GGG should fight Billy Joe Saunders next. He'll be undisputed champion AND break Bernard Hopkins record of title defenses all in one fight.

If they want a big turnout, do it in England.
That's a good idea. I prolly won't watch it but then again, I wouldn't watch this one again either. We now know it's not really a barn burner. It was a good fight tho , I'll give em that. First GGG fight I ever watched live.

but he'll make make triple the money by choosing to fight Canelo on cinco de mayo

And I'm not saying he shouldn't, but why sit for 8 months when you can make history in January/February and still fight Canelo in May? Fuck sitting around. Inactivity kills careers as well.

Bruh you trippin. You blaming Floyd for Paul's people not wanting to rush him to fight Floyd (or bigger/better competition)
Once again. Floyd has been accused of ducking people but the facts usually are otherwise.
Then you have the next line of bs. Floyd fights people when they are "pretty green" ( you can't have it both ways) and others when they are "over the hill" (even when those fighters showed in previous fights that they weren't).
What's consistent is the hate for Floyd Mayweather by any mean necessary to diminish his legacy.
Yup. I remember when he was fighting the Brit (lol can't remember his name right now) and everyone was sure he'd get touched. Beat that ass and all of a sudden the guy wasn't shit. Same with Canelo. Guerrero, sure. Plus there's so much to be said about a guy being so good he can otherwise contenders and guys who give each other hell, and pitching shutouts against em.

Pacquiao and Marquex gave each other fits and may beat em both easy.

thats alot to ask a 36 y/o to do
short vacation
10 weeks camp
fight
3 week break
promotional tour
10 week camp
fight

vs
long rehab
lucrative promo tour
10 week camp
fight for 3x more money in one fight than you would get doing 2 fights

GGG usually fights 2 - 3 times a year. This is nothing new.

If he doesn't fight Canelo on Cinco De Mayo then do it on Mexican Independence Day in September.

BJS in March
Canelo in September

he is going to be doing promo for a cinco de mayo fight like he has NEVER done before
thats time he will not have to recover and train

but most importantly why do a January or March fight when in this case it will cause him to lose money?

Not January. March. September to March is 6 months, and March to September is 6 months. That's plenty of time.

Bruh regardless of what Williams people said, if Floyd REALLY wanted that fight he could have made it happen.

Your whole post stinks of Standom too Bruh, I'm on the record saying Floyd is arguably the GOAT, but I'm not too much of a Stan that I can't point out his bullshit hustle either... I'll leave that to y'all. We are done here good brother, I really don't debate with Stans.... all due reapect... have a good day.

Why would Floyd want to fight him really bad? See your premise is wrong to begin with.

Not at all... like I said, Floyd made the fights he wanted to... and didn't give too much energy to the fights he wanted to avoid. It's that simple. Fighting Zab immediately after an embarrassing upset kiss was pathetic

No. he was gassed around the 5th round
He fucked up this fight on his own. He was clearly superior and GGG was nervous to start. All he had to do was stick to the plan which was deliver body punches repeatedly and it would have taken all of GGG's wind
instead Canelo show boated and then gassed himself out and lost the fight.
How was he gassed in the 5th and landed more punches?

You didn't answer the question though. Why would Floyd (the bigger name) want to (((really))) fight Williams (the lessor name)? Your premise is all backwards.
Floyd really want to fight Mosley/De La Hoya/Gatti (the bigger name) and that is usually how it goes and not the other way around. You're just trying to find (going out of your way) to make it Floyd's fault that his people wanted to build Williams up before getting a chance to fight Floyd.

He shouldn't have... when he made more money fighting past their prime fighters and avoid fighters who were more of a real threat but garnered less money.

Your all sensitive about Floyd (I also mentioned Manny too, but the Floyd statement is what got you a bit tender, actually said I didn't have a problem with this practice of avoiding the bigger threat to fight the lesser threat for more money, but mentioning Floyd has you all tender. You are actually arguing moot points really, but hey, gotta hold up that banner I guess

Anyway, the same way Floyd avoided bigger threats for less money which makes business sense, is the same way GGG should NOT fight Ward, and stay doing what he's doing...but Dudes turn in to Johnny Cochran defending Floyd's practice of doing this, but GGG should pursue a fight against a guy 2 weight classes bigger or else he's a bitch. Y'all are comical as hell with this fanatical Standom

after the 5th round he was completely gassed its not even up for debate.
he didn't start throwing combination of punches again until he absolutely needed it in the 11th and 12 round
he was stuck on the ropes for most of the rounds
he couldn't escape easily like he had before.
and ggg stopped respecting his power because he knew he was gas and was walking through his punches.

I don't know why Floyd's name is being mentioned He would destroy GGG for the simple fact that he's in good shape and disciplined.
Body shots, better defense than Canelo and hit him in the head with an overhand right every time GGG tried to come in
GGG punches like a kid just learning how to box isn't disciplined on defense he just has the will to wear most people down and the power to do so. And to his credit he did both of those things last night.
But he'd get outclassed by Floyd it'd be another "boring fight" because all you'd see is overhand rights to the dome, jabs and slips and floyd not allowing him to cut off the ring.

Bruh you keep throwing in things "like tender"/"sensitive" (that's sideshow shit) to try and help your argument but they don't. They simply weaken your argument.
Your argument was that Floyd ducked Paul Williams. The fact is he did not duck Paul Williams.
Your other argument is that if he really wanted to fight Paul Williams he would have offered him money if he really wanted to fight him. That's the position of the lessor name fighter trying to come up.
Hell..Floyd didn't really start making money until some time after 2007
Your arguments are just silly.

he would lose money doing 2 fights like that
both fights would lose time to be negotiated and the first fight would be a relative low draw and not in Vegas
the second fight would then have a limited promo tour and lose $ on gate and ppv opportunities

vs

(if Golden Boy / Top Rank is competent) a 2 month negotiation
3 months of promo tour and global media promotions before starting camp

by focusing on a cinco de mayo rematch these guys have enough time to realistically come close to or possibly achieve Mayweather Pacquiao numbers

G would not come down to -150 and Floyd is not going over 150
even at 154 he came in the ring at 150 or less - it just was not a good fight for either fighter to make.
any "fan" that swears G vs May should have happened is like the knock kneed duffus actor from Ballers last night a self proclaimed "real fan" swearing Canelo was almost knocked out

More Stan logic... the Lessor fighter should off the bigger fighter more money.... wow...

So, we're u cool with Floyd fighting Zab AFTER a loss? Just curious?

If Canelo's performance vs GGG was worthy of a draw, Danny Jacobs should've gotten at least a split (if not unanimous) decision win for this performance.

How is a fight (in England, check my post) that would break a record lose money? If done in March they have 6 months to promote. Remember they had less than that between the Chavez fight and last night's fight. Besides, the fact that it's a rematch promotes itself.

Also the talk of the post fight was NOT having the fight in Vegas because they feel like GGG wouldn't get a fair one. GGG needs to act fast while he has this leverage to set things up to his advantage and sitting for 9 to 12 months does not do that.

A fight with BJS is easy work with high reward. There is nothing to negotiate here but if there was you have 2 - 3 months to do it and and 8 week training camp.

As far as promo, Oscar did most of it this last fight. Why should that change now?

Allow me to interject - for that purse?' YES this is prize fighting.

Plus Floyd fought Baldomir that same year and beat his ass too and no one even cares about that fight lol

It's strange that people who don't have to get punched on the face have so much to say about the people who do. I think with every fighter at a certain level, fear is out the door. As long as a fight has some sufficient rewards, ie some belts but more importantly MONEY, it's on. If I worked to get where Floyd got, then I'm not putting my fame, record, belts on the line with someone who brings too little to the table. I don't do ALL the promotion, all the shit talking, lay a whole plate out that only benefits you, after 40 hard fights against the best, several in a year, just to give someone who just walks up without them bringing asses to them seats. Fuck no. You gotta be with the right promotion, be a good promoter yourself, and have some numbers on the board. That's why these new fighters all have to get their names on their own.

The only new guy doing that was Adrian, and he forgot about that part about WINNING --and he can still get more than a lot of em.

Point is, and again, I agree with you but it also validates the hypocritical bullshit I see in this thread (not so much you or the other brother)....

Throughout ALL the other boxing threads, GGG is a bitch because he won't fight Ward, even after this fight, GGG needs to fight Ward, blah blah blah, he ain't shit because he won't fight Ward, etc.

I've said, I don't have a problem with logic you said, 'for that purse, yes'! Canelo brings MUCH more bread to GGG than taking a fight against a guy comfortably fighting 2 weight classes higher than him, who just what, 3-4 fights ago was fighting a bum on BET for christs sake... BUT, the same 'acceptable' logic you used to validate Floyd fighting Zab after a loss when their were better bigger challenges out there, all of a sudden become absent for any other fighter not named Mayweather... Da Fuck should GGG take that big of a risk for less Bread, the same way why should Floyd have taken the risk against AT THE TIME bigger threads in Margarito and Williams, when he made way more bread fighting a Zab coming off of an embarrassing loss?

Thanks for the validation Good Brother... I'm out!

GGG aint do shit though. He allowed for Canelo to recover, and didn't do nothing that impressed me at all. GGG had Canelo on the ropes and aint do shit but miss.
I had 7-5 Canelo

I think with every fighter at a certain level, fear is out the door. .
Tell that too the motherfuckers who had to stand in front of Mike Tyson, IN CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHTS!!!

Dude this bullshit of 'the best needs to fight the best' nonsense has been thrown out the door for over 20 years now, Floyd got rich doing it, and a helluva lot of other fighters built their careers on it. Dudes don't get punched in the face to prove whose the best, they get in their to make as much money as they can with as little risk. Everyone wants to blame the sanctioning bodies but its the fighter too, and if anyone TRIES to claim Floyd fought the best most talented fighters available each time he fought they need their fucking head examined. Floyd was what he was, and he even proved it in August, an amazing talented fighter who was even more amazing at selling a potential 'threat' and mitigating the notion of other real threats.... You avoid fighting a fighter for less money (WHICH AGAIN, MAKES SENSE TO ME), sooner or later they are going to get caught slipping, then you can switch the narrative to say (see, he lost, he wasn't that good so I didn't fight him)... Wash, rinse, repeat bullshit, and most people fell for that shit in a lot of cases...

Oh I agree. Only thing is Floyd DID step up several weight classes on the way to his name. And he did it several times. GGG should never have Floyds name in his mouth. Ever.

If he wanted any semblance of greatness attached to his name then he would have done something like that when was in his prime. He didn't. And now people are stepping up to him and getting draws.

Floyd went from 130 to 154

I dont think GGG can make equivalent claims and he should be embarrassed to ever mention Floyds name.

Floyd is legitimately more skilled than anyone in his realm. They ALL say it. And anyone who came out as the new hype he either eventually beat or they got beat by someone else on their way.
