man if I was GGG, no way I would take that rematch. He is older, keep it moving, find someone else (Andre Ward) or just retire. He put in his work

GGG should fight Billy Joe Saunders next. He'll be undisputed champion AND break Bernard Hopkins record of title defenses all in one fight.

If they want a big turnout, do it in England.

Ward would have done the same when GGG laid down his fake challenge for anyone from 154-168.
All the what ifs aside, we are here now and the reality is, Ward will and should dominate him because he's 2 weight classes bigger.

There are a number of good challenges for him at his own weight at this point including a rematch with Cabell, no need for him to 'chase' a fight against a fighter who fights 2 classes north who isn't truly a big money draw. Floyd made 100s of millions of dollars doing the same thing...

I thought the fight was a draw. Canelo won 1,2, 10, 12 clearly and 3 and 5 less clearly (possibly 11 too but I have it to ggg). That makes 6. There were a bunch of close rounds too.

Overall Canelo landed the more meaningful punches, especially to the body. But GGG out worked him and out jabbed him.

I don't see why the 'draw' decision is controversial in the least. That 118-110 score is crazy though.

Overall it was a good fight. I think Canelo wins the rematch easily.
It's has be come the norm. People are bias and if their fighter doesn't when (even if it's a draw). Then it becomes "controversial".
I don't care what nobody says. Tim Bradley/Horn won against Pac but because of Pac's name and his previous wins. That to was "controversial"

BJS doesn't want it. He's been ducking all legit contenders.

He called him out and the winner of the two fights were scheduled to fight each other. Billy Joe is a bitch but there is no other tomato cans he can fight without getting called out on it.

These are the facts.

GGG made the claim that'd he'd fight anyone from 154-168.

Ward called his bluff.

GGG backed down and went on to fight the Boxinco Champions of the world.

Ward went on to fight, and defeat the much bigger challenge. Twice.

He was all set to fight GGG some months back then pulled out. He's been getting called out for his crap for a while.

Hopefully the WBO forces his hand, but with a GGG/Canelo rematch potentially on the horizon it's likely he's gonna hold that belt hostage for another year.

Yep.

Looking back, Abel Sanchez and them were smart to turn Ward down. GGG been a middleweight his whole career and it don't look like he'll move up at this point. He should stay his ass there.

I wasn' the person who brought Ward in the argument. I quoted the person who did.

Every post I've made is citing why he shouldn't fight Ward.

That is my problem. At the post fight press conference Canelo said he may not fight until Cinco De Mayo. What the fuck is GGG supposed to do until then?

Also you can say what you want about Floyd but when there was controversy he gave immediate rematches. Whenever a boxer get asked about a rematch and he's on that, "Well I'm going to go get some rest and talk to my team about my next move" shit it makes him look scared. Canelo should do the rematch in January, but it doesn't matter because GGG has the advantage with so many people thinking he was robbed.

As I said before, we are here now. That has been done before yet we don't degrade other fighters accomplishments because of it. Boxing is a business too. Ward was even less of a draw than he is now then, no need to fight him in that context. Floyd fought Zab AFTER a loss and avoided fighting Paul Williams.... is that constantly brought up in evaluating or as an attempt to invalidate Floyd's career? Manny did it dipping in Terrance Crawford to fight lesser fighters. There are other examples as well.

GGG does not need to fight Ward at this stage of his career and there are very valid challenges in and around his weight to give him the profile he needs. To constantly bring up Ward and something from a few years ago is really hypocritical at this point, when the same action was done by a lot of the 'favorites' on this page but those times are conviently side stepped.

Yeah. Especially since he can fight there and never really get called out for "daring to be great" and going up in weight to fight bigger challenges.

I feel you. I may have misquoted your post. Respect

He should break Hopkins record and call it a career. To be honest he doesn't need the rematch. Canelo does. Everyone is questioning HIM, not GGG.

I definitely agree. Getting a rematch contract hammered out should be the priority of both fighters.

Hopefully Golden Boy doesn't drag their feet on a rematch and let Father Time do Canelo's job for him.

Floyd has been accused of ducking a few fighters.
De La Hoya is one of them but it was actually Arum who didn't want the fight to happen.
Paul Williams gets brought up but out of his on mouth he states that his team was building him up and that he more than likely would have had a chance if not for his accident.

The accident happened after Williams got exposed by Lara. That fight was a robbery.

Shit was a setup by De La Hoya. He trying to milk this rivalry for everything he can. Fuck Golden Boy.

They will, but GGG's camp need to stand up for themselves. I believe they were pushing for a fight with BJS until Oscar said if they did there would be no fight with Canelo. I would have called their bluff and took the fight anyway.

He shouldn't stall his career out waiting for Canelo.

It never fails...this is a GGG/Alvarez thread and you fucking crabs in a barrel black hating pieces of shit for some reason need to take shots at Mayweatjer. It's insane... unaccomplished, fat, ugly, broke ass niggas hate black greatness so much that they will use any excuse to shit on it.

You people sicken me.
Nigga shut the fuck up

I feel u about Paul but if Floyd's team had really came at them with a bread offer they would have taken it. That actually speaks volumes for concerning Floyd avoiding him in my opinion. One thing that is really a constant with than last 10 years or so of Floyd's career is he either faught guys when they were pretty green (Canelo) or when they were past their primes (Delahoya, Shane)

He very rarely fought guys in their true prime when he became 'Money', he just did an amazing job selling those fights. I ain't mad at him, if I could grab a few 100 Milly I would do the same damn thing.

Bruh you trippin. You blaming Floyd for Paul's people not wanting to rush him to fight Floyd (or bigger/better competition)
Once again. Floyd has been accused of ducking people but the facts usually are otherwise.
Then you have the next line of bs. Floyd fights people when they are "pretty green" ( you can't have it both ways) and others when they are "over the hill" (even when those fighters showed in previous fights that they weren't).
What's consistent is the hate for Floyd Mayweather by any mean necessary to diminish his legacy.

but he'll make make triple the money by choosing to fight Canelo on cinco de mayo
