Yep... and even though he can bang, GGG proved his chin is solid as fuck, so standing more flat footed would ultimately hurt Canelo. I really don't see him winning the second fight, as he will need to adjust his game plan more, and if he stand in front of Dude more and invests to the body, he's gonna get caught with something. GGG has a much better chin than Canelo, and Canelos chin is one of the best....
imo if Canelo comes in under 160 he can out box / point GGG

he'll have even more angles to work and greater speed

Theoretically that sounds correct, but he's had periodic stamina issues before at lighter weights. The difference now is, he has a guy hitting him with thudding hard ass punches in addition to the stamina problems. Canelo is definitely from a skill perspective the superior boxer, but GGG has a couple intangibles which I believe will always be Canelo's problem, a steel chin and a killer instinct. Like I said before, THIS fight was the one for Canelo to win... catch GGG flat footed early, nervous, and put the wood on him. The fact that he started out moving and running so much actually gave GGG a chance to adjust to the big stage and bright lights.

I seriously can see Canelo getting knocked down and potentially out in a rematch. GGG will be a much different animal the next fight, and I frankly don't see Canelo being able to make enough 'safe' adjustments to combat GGG's strengths...

Especially since it seems like he can't hurt GGG. That bomb he hit GGG with in the 9th would've put almost everyone else on their ass, if not to sleep. GGG ate that shit like it was a Patti pie. With that said, Canelo didn't seem terribly hurt by anything GGG sent his way either.

I told fam here that this will likely be a trilogy type of matchup with a possible draw for a bigger payday somewhere. I guess this was it. GGG won this fight. These boxing judges stay on the bullshit.

I thought the fight was a draw. Canelo won 1,2, 10, 12 clearly and 3 and 5 less clearly (possibly 11 too but I have it to ggg). That makes 6. There were a bunch of close rounds too.

Overall Canelo landed the more meaningful punches, especially to the body. But GGG out worked him and out jabbed him.

I don't see why the 'draw' decision is controversial in the least. That 118-110 score is crazy though.

Overall it was a good fight. I think Canelo wins the rematch easily.

True but he moved a lot. If he stands more flat footed, which I believe he must do to earn GGG respect AND put himself in a better position to win, he will get caught more and potentially dropped. He had an amazing game plan early, was giving Dude a boxing lesson, but he ran out of gas...

we'll see - I find it funny that Canelo avoided slipping Gs jab for this fight
he had position and speed to slip and bring the over hand right - but didn't

G works behind his jab -a faster Canelo slipping and countering ala Floyd, should give G fits

also no matter how hard G is punching - no boxer is going to be ok openning up on someone afte the way Canelo was stepping out walking away or sometimes just looking at missed punches hanging over the rope.
Canelo made G miss A LOT right up to the end.

I really am looking forward to the adjustments both fighters will make - will Canelo dig deeper into the school of Mayweather?
will G become even more defensive, after leaving himself open to so many bloodying shots while his opponent left the fight still pretty?

I predict the rematch will be on the Cinco de Mayo weekend

 ..I liked how GGG kept on trying to appeal to the Mexican crowd in the post fight interview, I was like WTF is he doing?

GGG got robbed, point blank period....

Adalaide Byrd... they looking for you fam, hope that check was worth it

I had Canello winning 3 9 10 11 12 , I'm not sure what people were watching but GGG supposed to be this tough knockout artist and this dude throwing jabs like he in the olympics, he had Canelo on the ropes and GGG was so scared to throw his hands, then Canelo fought him in the center of the ring, GGG to me looked like he is declining before our very own eyes GGG made a mistake up in the championship rounds and still running up on Canelo and to me he won 9, 10, 11, 12 Canelo dropped clean body shots, clean power shots folks to caught up on jabs

It was GGG fight to lose and he lost the fight, I was not impressed Canelo fought with his hands down and GGG was scared to throw Canelo ripped GGG body and power shots

GGG will be to0 old by the time of the rematch both fighters looked gassed after round 8

Oh my god that SHOT! And I KNOW it hurt GGG but he did a great acting job of just moving forward knowing damn well Canelo was gonna have to rest after what it took to explode like that lol. Can you imagine doing that to someone and all they do is walk forward on you? Jesus!

carrying the fight my ass, he just got lucky he was fighting an amateur and not a top contending boxer. he won the fight cause connor wasn't use to going 12 rounds and got tired.

Fam, Floyd doesn't fight the way he fought Conner in any of his other fights. He clearly fought that way for the people. Come on now, when was the last time Floyd keep coming forward for any of his fight?

He was hurting GGG with those body shots early in the fight. He stopped throwing them. GGG right ribs were hurting so much he was scared to put his hands up.

He said he was gonna change his style before the fight cause he didn't want the people to see him running around like he did in his previous fights. All he did was try to make people feel like they got their money's worth. But in reality him and Connor planned the whole fight. Floyd knew he was gonna win cause Connor was not use to going 12 rounds. He knew Connor would tire out eventually which he did. Floyd did the fight to pay off his taxes that he owed, Connor did the fight cause it was his biggest payday ever. Connor knew he was not gonna win. He was thinking :money:

Good tremendous fight
I scored the fight for GGG 115-113 over Canelo
shitting judge with the bullshit

Adalaide Byrd must be smokin a drank while viewing this fight

so i suppose GGG vs Canelo 2 next year

Lol aint it funny that out of the two fights more people are satisfied with the mayweather KO vs this catastrophe of a decision ? And Oscar is sitting up there holding that.

Oscar cant even lie like a corrupt promoter. I thought Arum would have taught him better.

Let's see how he reacts when the PPV numbers come out and how he spins it.

Looking at that press conference and their buildup you can see the difference between them and MMA as far as the internet. That shit SUCKS lol. Boxing has to get some guys who really know how to do this digital age shit. Even Elie Sechback be showing whack ass low audio clips where he's just getting a clip of someone else's interviews. They need an Ariel hwani or however you spell his name. Someone who the fighter respect enough to give lengthy interviews and inside info.
