Getting Rid Of Jay Cutler And Brandon Marshall Was Genius Of Josh McDaniels

1. McDaniels had to get rid of Jay Cutler or as he's called in many circles "Backfoot Jay", because he's a poor decision maker; which results from lack of patience and discipline reading defenses and poor foot mechanics (throwing off the back foot constantly). Five years in the NFL and he's shown inability to improve in this area.

Sure, an argument can be made that he doesn't have the tools he had in Denver (Wide receivers, O-line, coaching, etc) but the problem is he's making the same stupid reads and throws he made when he was in Denver. This isn't all on lack of tools this is what Cutler is. Josh McDaniels wisely knew that Cutler wouldn't be the right fit for his system so out of town Cutler went. Now Cutler can enjoy getting killed in Mike Martz's system.

2. Guess who's leading the league in passing? It's not Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, or Drew Brees it's Kyle "Motherfuckin" Orton; you know the forgotten guy in the Cutler trade. I kept telling people Kyle Orton would do well in McDaniels's system but nobody was having that. I heard all the nonsense "You guys shouldn't have traded Cutler, blah, blah, blah". The way people were sucking Cutler's dick you would've thought we were trading a QB that won 4 Superbowls, but that wasn't the case. Once you start thinking with logic instead of emotion you could see the whole picture of McDaniels plan.

3. Brandon Marshall had to go because "the system" isn't about one guy. As talented as Marshall is once you start focusing your offense around one person you lose balance. Marshall made it about him when it should be about the team. What's great about "the system" is the open man is the one that gets thrown the ball. Lloyd, Royal, Gaffney, Thomas all can get open and Orton has spread the ball around. People said our passing offense wouldn't be shit after Marshall was traded; who's laughing now.

Peeps keep talking all the time about "star players" but above any other sport, football is about "team!"

Cutler is a modern day gunslinger and as such, will throw up just as many mistakes as he will passes on target.

And as much as peeps on the board and other places STILL pic on Eli Manning, he will never be his brother yet he is a very accurate passer.

And he gives the Giants stability @ the QB position.

Props on Kyle Orton, however you are only 2-2 (like us!) so any "bragging" should be kept to a minimum, an implosion of the Orton variety could still happen, lol!

Orton is a fantasy monster right now but the reason why he is leading the league in passing is because week after week they are playing from behind.

And in 6 weeks the response will be "It's only been 10 games homes".

Kinda like last season hungh??? McDaniels was a genius up til his team tanked... The Broncos are 2 and 2... Very well couldve lost to the Titans and youre bragging about a Denver team with no Cutler and Marshall being 10 and 10 since McDaniels got the job???... Really???...:hmm: Man stop...:smh: On another note, hows that Tebow experiment working out??? That Wild horses formation is really catching teams off guard... Until Denver starts playing great in that weak division they play in, you really outta get of McDaniels nuts...

No doubt. Guys like Cutler and Marshall are "Me" guys instead of "Team" guys.

And that's why he'll never win a Superbowl.

co-sign wholeheartedly

No implosion will happen (although haters would love that) and yes we're 2-2 but this thread was more about people being wrong on the Cutler and Marshall trades.

I hear you!

There was no way he could stay after that whole deal about slackin' off in practice, no matter how good ANY player is, sometimes you gain by losing, especially if they go against your core beliefs!

If Broncos hadn't drafted Tebow in the first round with the extra pick they had from the Cutler trade they would have won for sure

Orton looks fine as a replacement not the better player but the fact that he is a good starter and the picks sway the trade

You are on your own with the Brandon Marshall thing though dude is the truth

We will see how good Orton is in Baltimore this sunday;)

Orton will still have the passing numbers (Broncos reciever group is too talented) but the Broncos will lose the game. It's extremely hard to win on the road in Baltimore. Until we can start running the ball well we won't win many games period.

Broncos should have kept peyton hillis!

If you seriously believe Backfoot Jay Cutler is a better player than Kyle Orton than you need to put the crack pipe down.

I rather have 5 receivers I can go to over 1.

Now how did I know that you would show up in this thread? Bottom line: Kyle Orton is a better QB than Jay Cutler and our passing game is better without Brandon Marshall. Those are the facts; All that extra McDaniels/Tebow hate you can leave at the door.

How in the hell is Orton a better QB??? No talent scout would agree with you, and only one head coach would agree with you. Denver has a scheme that inflats Qbs numbers... Dont think for a second Orton is a "great" QB. Tebow aint done shit all season and thats your first round pick... But cause you LOVE Mcdaniels and his avg record as a coach you give him a pass for that??? Tell the truth, you got a shrine for that dude along with your McDaniel pom poms...:hmm:

 The only thing Backfoot Jay has over Orton is a stronger arm. In terms of Leadership, reading defenses, accuracy and technique Orton clearly destroys Cutler. As far as talent scouts are concerned you got to be shitting me. The same so-called talent scouts that said Tom Brady a 6th round pick wouldn't be shit or Shannon Sharpe 7th round pick, or Terrell Davis a 6th round pick. Get the fuck outta of here with that talent scout nonsense.

Didn't say great QB, but a better one than Jay Cutler.

Tebow aint done shit all season and thats your first round pick...

Of course Tebow hasn't done shit all season he isn't the starter. I'm fine on letting Tebow hold a clipboard for a few years; this is Orton's time to shine.

But cause you LOVE Mcdaniels and his avg record as a coach you give him a pass for that???

I see a coach who's in his second season as Head coach and is still in the process building a playoff caliber team. Rome wasn't built in a fucking day and neither are playoff teams. What I LOVE is the direction he's taking the team in. There is NO pass to be given because we are not looking at a finished product.

Uh, isn't that what the OP was referring to here:

Josh McDaniels wisely knew that Cutler wouldn't be the right fit for his system so out of town Cutler went.

And uhhh, didn't this happen last night?!?

Now Cutler can enjoy getting killed in Mike Martz's system.

To the tune of NINE sacks, the last of which resulting in a concussion!

Don't get it twisted, Josh was looking to get Matt Cassel (who is garbage). Regardless, I knew that was a good deal for the Broncos from jump. Orton is a serviceable QB.

Didn't the Broncos start out 6-0 last year?

I was talking in regard to Kyle Orton's play not what record the Broncos will finish with. Whether the Broncos make the playoffs or not is another story, but one thing is for sure Kyle Orton is performing better than Jay Cutler therefore making the Cutler trade a good deal for the Broncos. Josh McDaniels knew what he was doing.

This Sunday Baltimore's defense is going to make Kyle Orton look like Jay Cutler.
