1. McDaniels had to get rid of Jay Cutler or as he's called in many circles "Backfoot Jay", because he's a poor decision maker; which results from lack of patience and discipline reading defenses and poor foot mechanics (throwing off the back foot constantly). Five years in the NFL and he's shown inability to improve in this area.
Sure, an argument can be made that he doesn't have the tools he had in Denver (Wide receivers, O-line, coaching, etc) but the problem is he's making the same stupid reads and throws he made when he was in Denver. This isn't all on lack of tools this is what Cutler is. Josh McDaniels wisely knew that Cutler wouldn't be the right fit for his system so out of town Cutler went. Now Cutler can enjoy getting killed in Mike Martz's system.
2. Guess who's leading the league in passing? It's not Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, or Drew Brees it's Kyle "Motherfuckin" Orton; you know the forgotten guy in the Cutler trade. I kept telling people Kyle Orton would do well in McDaniels's system but nobody was having that. I heard all the nonsense "You guys shouldn't have traded Cutler, blah, blah, blah". The way people were sucking Cutler's dick you would've thought we were trading a QB that won 4 Superbowls, but that wasn't the case. Once you start thinking with logic instead of emotion you could see the whole picture of McDaniels plan.
3. Brandon Marshall had to go because "the system" isn't about one guy. As talented as Marshall is once you start focusing your offense around one person you lose balance. Marshall made it about him when it should be about the team. What's great about "the system" is the open man is the one that gets thrown the ball. Lloyd, Royal, Gaffney, Thomas all can get open and Orton has spread the ball around. People said our passing offense wouldn't be shit after Marshall was traded; who's laughing now.
