Not for nothing but im starting to believe alot of people don't. At best, people claim to use them with new people or with people they are not in a relationship with. However, if that were true why do people seemingly pop up with kids out of nowhere. Even if the claim is I'm in a relationship now, exactly why would you stop using protection given the amount of people who are unfaithful.long term it may not help (again unfaithful relationships) and it may not be financially accessible for everyone but in theory you and your partner would get tested before you stopped using protection in a relationship.
Even when condom usage is mentioned normally its around preventing pregnancy and people don't mention/focus on preventing diseases. Having a kid is treated worse than potentially having an incurable disease.even with pregnancy prevention, people consider pulling out a form of protection.
Let's assume people aren't just claiming to use condoms on a regular basis. I don't personally know anyone who has mentioned using protection for oral.
I clearly i don't have any numbers to support my thoughts, but people just say what society has taught us to say. In reality, a lot of people aren't regularly using protection for sex.

You have to request a HIV test. From my experience they'll normally ask but they don't just do it.
