I can't remember who said it but basically Viserion as an ice dragon works in the opposite way of a dragon.
Dragon fire turns men to ashes in seconds so it's heat is comprable to that of lava (2100 degrees Fahrenheit). If we're talking the opposite end of the spectrum absolute zero (-459 degrees Fahrenheit) or somewhere around there ice would turn to gas and thus melt the wall in the same amount of time Drogon turned men into Ash

Petyr deserved everything he got.He fucked up big time when he implied Arya wanted to be Lady of Winterfell.I think that's when Sansa wised up,because she knew Arya has always wanted to be a fighter instead of being head of some castle.
Jaime had enough Cersei ,he's evolved as a character every since he met Brienne and got his hand cut off.
I'm going to guaranteed you Cercei will die next season,Tywin,Tyrion and Queen of Thorns have tried to warn her she's not smart as she thinks yet continue to shoot herself in the foot.

I know a lot of people will hate because they want action all the way through, but the tension is what made this episode great. We all thought that seriously was going to do something as soon as Daenerys stepped into King's Landing. We all knew that it was a trap... And then it wasn't... But then it kind of was with Yuron Greyjoy pretending to run away.
As you said, Cersei Lannister is not as smart as she think she is and everybody has told her so.
Quiet as it's kept, I believe that Theon Greyjoy will be the one who blows the lid off Cercei's plan for Yuron Greyjoy by going to get his sister. I can't find any other reason for keeping that son-of-a-bitch still irrelevant (though I thought he was going to try to kill Jon Snow)
If it was a "living" dragon it probably would have needed a breather, but now it's a blue eyed devil dragon, so I don't think the laws of phsyics and biology apply to it in the same way anymore.

It would have been Power's season Finale (I think) vs GoT season finale, so they probably made the right choice. I was actually surprised that MTV scheduled their VMAs for last night. If ratings mean anything to you, you really wouldn't want to share a finale or a major event show with the season finale of GoT.
I'm looking at it this way.... They ended up needing a dragon (remember, dragons are kinda magical beings themselves), and dragons have been hard to come by.
Dany's dragons are the first living ones in quite some time (like 200+ years) and the ones living before that had been kept in captivity so they were very small (larger ones existed when the Targaryans took over initially I guess). The only beings that have wanted to get through the wall have been the White Walkers and the Wildlings.... and the White Walkers have been physically incapable of getting through the wall for centuries so even when the dragons were around previously, they wouldn't have been able to get one because they were all south of the wall... and the wildlings didn't have a magic spear to kill one with (or the ability to bring it back as a subservient walking dead dragon ) even if they managed to get over the wall.
So, Dany coming to save Jon and crew just seems to be a perfectly timed coincidence for team WW. ....unless the whole Bran/NK thing actually turns out to be a thing next season, in which case it could be more than a coincidence.
