I think benjen been dead. If I remember correctly the nights watch sent him north of the wall to investigate. The possible sighting of white walkers. Because of the deserter that ned executed. That said he saw white walkers. I think he probably died because of lack of supplies. I think gendry is laying low.

The crazy thing is I think Ser Davos in doing right by Gendry and letting him escape may have sealed the fate of Stannis' daughter. Since they no longer have Gendry to sacrifice they may sacrifice his daughter which I'm sure Davos would take much worse.
