‘Game of Thrones’ star Stephen Dillane admits that he’s not a big fan of all the nudity in the epic hit, shortly to return to our screens for a fourth series.

“I’m a bit old for it,” says the British BAFTA winner, who plays Stannis Baratheon, just one of the warriors determined to seize power in the medieval blockbuster, where no one is safe as seven rulers fight for command of the mythical Westeros - when they're not drinking, wenching, belching and watching clothes fall off with abandon.

“It doesn’t particularly appeal to me, reminds me of German porn from the 1970s. But I presume it serves a purpose, and the merits of the show far outweigh my concerns on that score.”

More appealing to Dillane is the show’s depiction of power, with struggles tirelessly and ruthlessly continued.

“I think it’s an accurate and truthful reflection of how power operates, in different societies, and the relatively small part love and affection play in things. It’s a dark view of the human condition that is quite refreshing to see on screen.”

Dillane, who’s been making his name on the big and small screen since his breakthrough role in ‘Welcome to Sarajevo’ (1997), admits something on the scale of ‘Thrones’ is a very strange thing to be involved in, with its fanatical following – “you just hope you’re satisfying everyone who’s read the books, and cares immensely.”

Another project with a dedicated, verging on the obsessional, fanbase is ‘The Bridge’, but this hasn’t stopped Dillane happily stepping into some familiar shoes for the English-French version ‘The Tunnel’. He’s not fazed by what’s gone before…

“I hadn’t heard of it, and it was suggested that I didn’t watch it,” he says of the Swedish-Danish original starring Kim Bodnia and Sofia Helin, and whose second series is now on BBC4.

“Everything should stand on its own merits,” muses Stephen. “If a remake brings something that wasn’t there before, why not? It’s only a plot, and plots get remade all over the place.”

‘The Tunnel’ sees the discovery of a body exactly halfway along the Chunnel (where the crew filmed on location), meaning both French and English authorities must investigate.

What was it like working with a bi-lingual cast and crew?

“I’m afraid to say the experience was delightful,” he chuckles. “Everything ran very smoothly. The only issue we had was when our drivers came over with us, and suddenly there were two completely different sets of taxi drivers everywhere. And that got a bit complicated.”

French and English taxi drivers at dawn… sounds like the perfect preparation for both ‘The Tunnel’ and the next season of ‘Game of Thrones’. Cross fingers the cabbies, at least, kept their clothes on.

Carice van Houten has one surefire way to deal with rude fans: threaten them.

"I'll tell them, 'careful who you're messing with, because if I make another shadow baby, then you are the first to know,'" said the actress (who plays evil priestess Melisandre) at the SAG Awards on Saturday. "So they can get a little scared even, it's funny."

Speaking of rude fans, Van Houten's co-star John Bradley-West has had his fair share of negative encounters.

"Sometimes you think they're gonna be nice, and they can throw you a bit of a curveball," said the actor, who plays the role of Samwell Tarley on the HBO series. "A guy came up to me once and said...'One question: why's your character still so fat?' And I said...'Well, because I'm still so fat.'...and he said, 'I just don't believe it, don't believe it for a second that you'd still be so fat.' I said, 'There's dragons and White Walkers in this show, I cannot believe that my weight is the thing that you're just not buying about it!'"

Damn dude seems as rigid in real life as the character Stannis Baratheon that he plays:lol:

Game Of Thrones Star On Celebrity Culture: I'm Done!

He's said he's done with acting and maybe he is but that speech and the whole scene seemed weird, like they said he seemed to be reading/acting as opposed to speaking from the heart. I wonder what the story is behind that:confused:

Those auto start vines gotta go.

Yeah that shit is annoying as hell now:angry:

Game of Thrones: On the Set of Season 4 (making of)

I haven't read the books so I wouldn't know for sure but some of this seems to be spoilerish, especially the 54 second mark, if so I wonder why they would release those scenes.

But damn it takes 6 months to film one season:eek: Not really shocking but damn thats a lot for a TV show with only 10 episodes.

Ok, right on with Catelyn Stark, Sandor Clegane :lol::lol:, he needs a Sarah Mclachlan BC SPCA End Animal Cruelty commercial! Poor, ' Dog '!

Robb Stark, hey the truth hurts!

Daenerys Targaryen . . . *Sigh * yes, I have to say I do see her losing her pedestal as the do no wrong darling of the show. Possibly this season.

Power drunk, maybe, but when you've been listening to, and under the thumb of a real Richard like Viserys during your formative years!:smh: I would have loved to see him sniffing around Cersei's skirts if it meant his kingdom back!

Did she watch Viserys murdered without batting an eye, yes.

But let's not coddle here, not only was Viserys rife with insecurities which he took out on her, you didn't need to read the books to know he was trying to give Dany a little more than brotherly love the oldschool Targ way! :puke:

+, aren't the Targaryen's naturally crazy at least one half the time.

Maybe Visery's wasn't the mad one!!!

Jon Snow Knows Nothing of Volcanoes

After starring in the last ‘Silent Hill’ movie, Kit Harington continues his quest to extend beyond his “Jon Snow” character on ‘Game of Thrones‘ with ‘Pompeii,’ a romance-action-’Gladiator’ mashup directed by ‘Resident Evil‘ helmer Paul W.S. Anderson. While the film probably isn’t on the top of most moviegoers’ lists of the most anticipated of 2014, the newly released photo gallery from Sony Pictures shows it’ll have at least a few thrills for audiences … and one menacing Kiefer Sutherland.
