Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

From the book

Her vest had begun to smolder, so Dany shrugged it off and let it fall to the ground. The painted leather burst into sudden flame as she skipped closer to the fire, her breasts bare to the blaze, streams of milk flowing from her red and swollen nipples. Now, she thought, now, and for an
instant she glimpsed Khal Drogo before her, mounted on his smoky stallion, a flaming lash in his hand. He smiled, and the whip snaked down at the pyre, hissing.

She heard a crack, the sound of shattering stone. The platform of wood and brush and grass began to shift and collapse in upon itself. Bits of burning wood slid down at her, and Dany was showered with ash and cinders. And something else came crashing down, bouncing and rolling, to land at her feet; a chunk of curved rock, pale and veined with gold, broken and smoking. The roaring filled the world, yet dimly through the firefall Dany heard women shriek and children cry out in wonder.

Only death can pay for life.

And there came a second crack, loud and sharp as thunder, and the smoke stirred and whirled around her and the pyre shifted, the logs exploding as the fire touched their secret hearts. She heard the screams of frightened horses, and the voices of the Dothraki raised in shouts of fear and terror, and Ser Jorah calling her name and cursing. No, she wanted to shout to him, no, my good knight, do not fear.for me. The fire is mine. I am Daenerys Stormborn, daughter of dragons, bride of dragons, mother of dragons, don’t you see? Don’t you SEE? With a belch of flame and smoke that reached thirty feet into the sky, the pyre collapsed and came down around her. Unafraid, Dany stepped forward into the firestorm, calling to her children.

The third crack was as loud and sharp as the breaking of the world.

When the fire died at last and the ground became cool enough to walk upon, Ser Jorah Mormont found her amidst the ashes, surrounded by blackened logs and bits of glowing ember and the burnt bones of man and woman and stallion. She was naked, covered with soot, her clothes turned to ash, her beautiful hair all crisped away... yet she was unhurt.

The cream-and-gold dragon was suckling at her left breast, the green-and-bronze at the right. Her arms cradled them close. The black-and-scarlet beast was draped across her shoulders, its long sinuous neck coiled under her chin. When it saw Jorah, it raised its head and looked at him with eyes as red as coals.

Good writing but its not fucking with the image of those succulent titties. Plus in this excerpt the fire burns her hair and a dragon sucked her titties, I don't want to see that shit playboy.

holy shit.:eek::eek::eek:

i like how they incorporated the dragons in the somewhat season 2 preview with the sounds and the fire.:yes::yes:

spring cant come sooner, this shit is like cocaine. :smh::smh::smh:

Daenerys_by_carrie_best.jpg

I hope she wears that outfit for the entire second season:yes:
I hope they have the scene where Jihqui rubs one out for Dany in season 3....

Its interesting to me how some people are so adverse to reading. It's like there is a war against actually reading the books vs. just watching the show. I guess it might be true what they say about how to keep a secret from black people.

This is fantasy calm down

They need to crack them history books tho

holy shit they will have Dragons next year...

It only gets better trust me :yes:

More or less, The whole scence with her walking into the fire and the dragon eggs hatching was more dramatic (i.e. mystical) in the book IMO. Kinda disappointed how they handled that. Maybe budget limitations kicked in.

There's at least one major battle in the second book.

really????

I havent seen it yet but I will be the judge when I do.

When I saw her cradling that little dragon right in the lap of her nude body................I've never wanted to be a baby dragon so much in my life :o

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Was tonights episode the last show of the season ?

yes

Season 2 will be next spring unfortunately :smh:

I'm watching it now....

That old dude in the court the one that was telling the working girl about kings......... when she left................

:roflmao::roflmao2::roflmao3::lol:

Whats everyone's final thoughts of the first season?

What's yall first impression compare how you feel about it now?

Anyone worried about the new characters that's going to be introduce next season.

As for my first impression compare to now,I only knew about the show when the first episode was broadcast so I didnt know what to expect...I thought the first episode was good but wanted to know more about it that's when I downloaded the audio books and got hooked then....This is probably my favorite show now...it was "The Walking Dead".. I think they did a great job portraying the characters and making it match the book for the most part...If I was to give the first season a grade I would give it an "A-"

This better win some type of awards but knowing how television is run I doubt it:smh:

I know right. I mean they actually only invented audio books for us because we don't want that knowledge. Shooooot, I reckon you won't find nun'em white folks reading, er, listening to no durn audiobook:rolleyes:

I'm sure you know that sometimes people don't have the time in their schedule to read so they listen to audiobooks out of convenience. Take me for example, I work full time and am in the last year of college so I'm too busy reading other shit to read things like this at the moment so its convenient to listen to audiobooks while doing other things so I can still get the book without neglecting anything else. I'm sure you knew that though.

I'm sure your also aware that even by listening to an audio book you can still acquire and attain the same knowledge that you can by reading if your actually paying attention so those "secrets" you talk about being hidden from us (and alluding to the old, ignorant, bullshit phrase "if you want to keep something from a nigga hide it in a book") will still be gained and taken in. I know you were just bullshitting though so its all good:hmm:

Man. Cocaine is a powerful drug. I never heard of this shit until HBO put it on, and I'm glad. HBO has done it again. I have no interest in picking up the book until after each each series is on. I can to say that I was thoroughly entertained by each episode and am eagerly awaiting the next season and will not let the written version take precedence over the theatrical (visual) version. I might read up until season 2, but.... HBO did it again... For me at least.

All bullshit aside, I had been trying NOT to read the books because I didn't want to ruin the show. But fuck it! I just downloaded the prequel books "Dunk & Egg" series and the first 4 of the "Game of Thrones" e-books and audio books. Going to be reading and listening to these joints at night like some old British fuck while I play Angry Birds and drink hot tea.
:dance:

Great show I would give it a solid A+.

I don't think they missed a beat on anything. Great writing, story telling, introducing all the characters, cinematography, directing, score (especially the Ned beheading scene I thought that was brilliant).

Don't sleep either this show will mos def win awards. This is HBO they have a great track record with shows winning awards and this show is not only a ratings winner but its also critically acclaimed. Just the fact that they went through with the Eddard Stark killing will win them awards (probably for that episode an some type of award for Sean Bean).

Co-sign, I'll read each book after the conclusion of each season. I don't want to know what is going to happen, the suspense and shock is what make shows/movies worth watching. I actually wish I didn't find out what happened to Ned before hand it would have made it that much better. But at the same time if I didn't know I would have been pissed so at least I had time to prepare:yes:

Of course. I consider books or audiobooks similiar. But there just seems to be a disdain for books from some of the people in this thread. I have alway thought BGOL is mostly Black Nerds Online. But even amongst us black nerds there still is an anti reading sentiment.

Excellent tranlation to TV. Those who havent read or will not read this series will miss out on some of the best fantasy writing around. George has and will continue to surprise his readers as he will kill off several main characters to break your heart and keep you reading... Good thing he has 100s of named characters and two more books coming out... Someday....:rolleyes:
