John Snow is meeting with the wildlings. Their leader is Mance Rayder. Major story arc next season.

As a person whose perspective isnt skewed or predetermined/established by the books, i can say that i have no problem with how they did Arya or Dragon Queen(i actually really enjoyed Aryas scenes with Tywin). There were so many new characters to introduce and develop this season that they did what they could to maintain already established storylines and characters while expounding and introducing others. I wanted to have more info on Brans character (and i went to the spoiler thread for that info) but i wasnt disappointed that they didnt focus on him and others as much.House of the Undyng was done very poorly and What's up the White Walker looking at Sam...
Usually I just shake my head and move on when I see people complaining about it being different from the books but in this case,I gotta agree with everyone on this one
I dont know how the hell they are going to do Daenery's next season because in the books her chapters are fucking boring....But atleast I can understand the purpose in the books, her story on the TV show was beyond horrible....
I dont understand how they allow her character, spend so much time looking for her dragons...
Arya's story for this season, hasnt been good either...I hope they make her story alot more entertaining next season

Its a really layered story with a bunch to keep up with and follow so i understand how some characters played background/secondary roles this season...But again, this is as a guy who has no book info as a reference point. I actually kind of agree with you that the House of the Undying was done in subpar fashion (rushed) but i think they did a good job of relaying the message and purpose there while succeeding in keeping focus on more important storylines this season.
did NOT know who he was fuckin' with...
DRAKARIS (sp?) BITCH!!!!

Great show! Being a non book reader, I have enjoyed most of the story lines but I definitely was expecting more out of the "House Of The Undying. I was guessing there was gonna be all sorts of crazy shit in there but all she did was walk up one set of steps and she found her dragons...![]()
One question I had was, how did Stannis get back to his castle? The last we saw of him on the wall was what I thought was him getting captured by Lanister troops...![]()
He looked better in this episode to me IMO.
That scene with him and Maester Luwin was telling and powerful. It gives his perspective and gives validity (to an extent) to his feelings and actions.
He was enslaved to an extent by those who murdered his brothers and though treated well was expected to feel grateful while being enslaved.
Imagine it like when we were once slaves. Some slave owners probably treated their slaves well in comparison to other slaves, or maybe well period, but at the end of the day they were still slaves. I imagine thats how Theon felt.
And to top it off he returns home to his family only to be rejected and humiliated by not only his family but the same subjects who if he were raised on the Iron Islands would have been kissing his ass.
He stepped up at the end and tried to man up and go out fighting like a warrior and was denied that even. He can't win for trying.
I can sympathize with his character. In some ways he's like a dumb version of Tyrion.
those were his own men pulling him away from the battle.
and tyrion saved that pipsqueak joffrey's ass .. only to have an attempt made on his life by his own sister .. to add insult to injury... receives no thanks or recognition for his part in the battle...
AND they got him convalescin' in some shitty ass room...
damn.. impin' really AIN'T easy...

Damn, I hated that I missed that scene involving his sister attacking him. When I saw him laid-up in bed on last night's episode, I was wondering what the hell had happened. You're right. "impin' ain't easy".LOL
Jaime will soon be to the rescue.

Yeah, I didn't read the books either. I like Arya as a character, and I like the scenes she had with Tywin. They were good together, and it showed how much of a G she is. She was a lil girl trapped behind enemy lines with people who would have killed her if they found out who she was. She found a way to survive that shit and got herself an assassin. I think this season was setting things up with her and Jaqen. Seems like he's gonna school her.
As far as Kaleesi's story line goes, I didn't have a problem with it at all. She feels like a mother to those dragons. Her motherly instincts have kicked in and when they took them from her she had tunnel vision. She was all about getting them back. No matter what. Anyway, now that she has them I think she'll focus on getting ships and other assets to get home and be with her people. My only question is about the scene with K. Drogo and the baby. Was that a dream sequence?

Damn varies is hating on little finger hard!
Old man lannister rode his fucking horse in the throne
Room, shitting all on the floor!
I know it's just a story, but what happened to the
500 men @ winterfell? They couldn't stop the burning
Down of winterfell, or save bran, hodar, riken(sp)?
I wondered this also. Since they had them surrounded it would seem that they could have prevented them from burning Winterfell, especially since their lives were spared if they surrendered![]()

This is how I remember it going down in the book
In the book Roose Bolton bastard son Ramsay Snow is captured during during the War of the 5 kings for rape and murder. He is taken to Winterfell in order for justice to be served. While there Theon learns of his true identity and Ramsay promises to aid Theon when Northern forces arrive to take the castle. So Theon releases him and Ramsay goes back to House Bolton and gets some troops.
When Northern forces arrive outside the castle House Bolton troops arrive as if they are joining the army that is already there. Instead Ramsay snow and House Bolton forces turn on the Nothern troops and begin to do battle. When the fighting is over House Bolton has won and Theon lets Ramsay Snow through the gates to congratulate him on their victory. but Ramsay Snow turns on Theon and his troops storm the castle to pillage and burn it down. Theon is taken as prisoner.
So therefore there was no one around to put out the fire.
Got you.
This is confusing then (in terms of the way they portrayed it on the show) since it obviously didn't go down the way you just described but they obviously don't clarify what actually did happen.
I remember when Roose Bolton suggested sending his son there a couple of episodes ago there was no mention of him ever being a prisoner or anything like that. Also Theon was knocked out an betrayed by his own men so it would seem they accepted Rob's deal and would be unlikely to burn Winterfell.
They should clarify that point.

I thought it was hilariously clever writing, because the horseshitting scene immediately followed Tyrion's discovery that he was getting no credit for the Blackwater and his sister tried to murder him.
The one thing that as got to be on Tyrion"s mind is that this all a bunch of "horseshit".
