My previous phone was the MyTouch 3G. It was my favorite phone ever up until I bought the Nexus One. I'm an Android Fanatic!!!

There is nothing slow about the Nexus One. It has a Gig processor in it. It has 512 RAM and 512 ROM. This bitch is faster than my first computer and faster than half the Muhfukkas computers on BGOL. We are not able to save apps to SD card yet. There will be an OTA update to address that issue in the future.

If you are thinking about getting one, you will not regret it. TRUST!!! Now that the Nexus has full Multi Touch, this is most definitely the best phone I have ever had, easily!!!!

I think there is one other person that checks out this thread that has a Nexus One and I'm sure he will Co-Sign with everything I just mentioned.

Royal you won't miss the keyboard. The screen is large enough. The resolution, video, speed, car home, and multi touch are some of the standard things that you will love about the phone. My favorite is the built in speech to text on 2.1!!!

I like this phone but I like what HTC has done with their Sense UI that they have running on top of Android.

Man I already asked that when I was comparing it to the Motoroi.. the Nexus fans wont like that . Scroll back to earlier posts. As much as I am an Android fan, the only thing I could really appreciate about the Nexus after actually handling one is the speed. With that being said Im still looking forward to the Motoroi. Its a newer look and it has a helluva cam and not to mention hdmi. This Nexus kinda reminded me of a slimmer version of my old sidekick a lil bit. The phone itself IS fast though Zei. I just like the option of the MOtoroi better, IMO.

Whats really the thing though is how much I still like my G1. Yea its not as fast as some of these newer phones but its almost unlimited things you can do once its rooted. Changing ROMS and themes is almost like having a whole new phone. If the cam was much better on the G1, I wouldnt even be looking to upgrade.

Far as the G1 goes, it gave birth to all of this droid talk we love so much. I dont see getting rid of it even after a new phone is purchased. Like you said Dro, the customization alone with the G1 is unrivaled TBH and new developments are happening everyday STILL and dont look to be slowing down anytime soon.

I guess the 1 somebody posted for the DMV area is the most accurate and informative but Google Maps also has a lil transit thing. I don't know how accurate or informative it is far as times and things because i've never had to use it, but i remember once at work I clicked on transit and let me know what time the next bus was coming and it even had the right bus number that comes in that area. I thought that was pretty dope.



as Zei said Mybackup Pro, most of the time when they add a new version u will probably need to install the newer version. I've had to install 3 different versions, usually when a new version comes out it'll ask u to go to market and upgrade, even if u click cancel it wont let u run mybackup pro. This version has been working strong on my phone for a second, here

So if tmo news and Androidspin are correct in March us Tmobile users should expect the kiddy sidekick replacement Mytouch with slide out keyboard, the Mytouch 1.2 (the only real difference a headphone jack?) and the kiddy cliq without a keyboard Zeppelin?? I can hear Jay Z saying iiiilllll. If this is tmobile's much talked about Spring roster they have obviously threw in the towel to Verizon and At&t for the adult audience, they are obviously catering more to the kids with Android phones. So that's it, i'm not waiting to see if this Roi is coming to tmo in March, I haven't been able to find much talk of it online, infact 1 site said it will only be available through Google like the Nexus One, so my search is on, no more games, i'm trying to cop that Nexus One. I'll pay $400 for it, so I go on Craigslist and there's like 5 different ass holes who are selling it for $500 and $550, fkn freaks, that's basically they same price I can get it for from Google, I have politely sent all 5 assholes a message telling them I have $400 right now for the phone. For everybody with the Nexus how is it not having a physical keyboard? The phone runs smooth other than those reported 3g problems which is no prob, for me since i'm mostly on edge anyway.

There aren't any real signs that this shyt is coming to tmo, that Zeppelin bull shyt looks like some tmo shyt, smells like some tmo shyt and it looks like that and all those damn mytouch's are the only Android's coming from tmo in the spring quarter. I still like my g1 but i am a tech guy who likes new and more powerful shyt, the g1 kept me happy longer than any of the other 4 smart phones I have bought in the past 3 years. But, I am ready for an upgrade, if I knew for sure the Roi was coming in March i'd wait, but it doesn't look that way.

my response---Google is selling for $530, so why would anybody pay your price of $550, lol.

his response--"Add taxes and shipping your at $580, the zip code glitch won't give you $530 shipped anymore. my price is listed to avoid insane lowball offers."

Since craigslist doesn't have many selling the Nexus One, I don't know what to do. I can get the phone for $179, but i'd have to purchase an additional line, which means i'd have 2 bills and i'd have to get that nexus one rate plan. Any advice?

i text the mofo talkn $450 this cocky btch said check ebay, i let it go, no need to get into a back and fourth shyt fest. I went into the day thinking $400 was my max but after watching some vids and hearing cats on other sites talk about it, I think $450 is currently my max. hmmmm i thought about, well i can get it from google for 179, then cancel my tmo contract and pay the 200, so it would be like i paid $400 for the phone....But, i'd be under a new contract and most importantly i'd be stuck with that 500 min. plan so that's out of the question. I really don't want to fk with ebay i've been hearing about too many scams of late, i don't know...

Also to my brother Zei and others, I know that $530 price is insane, even too insane for me, because i'm refusing to pay that. But, many believe this Roi is coming out. Honestly i'm not so sold that all these better phones are coming out so quick. It's like any business, most drop a high end product and then promote it, let it sit and mature, trying to let it reach its maximum potential. Look at how they dropped the g1 waited several months for the mytouch then the cliq. Look at Verizon's Droid, they were rumored to be getting some of the dopest phones i've saw at Christmas, but it never happened, now word is Verizon will be dropping the Motorola Devour in March. The Devour looks better than the cliq and mytouch BUT, it's a big drop off from the Droid, i don't believe what many in this thread have speculated that we are going to bombed with all these Android phones that get better and better. We'll get bombed with lots of Android phones, but I think each carrier will give 1 or 2 big named phone each year then a bunch of economy smart phones. I could be wrong, but it's the way of business, it's not in the best interest of these companies to drop better and better smart phones every 3 months. I do think tmobile will drop a big named phone this year but when and will tmobile actually sell the phone in stores? i'm not trying to wait, tmo has proved that they are vulnerable and insecure when it comes to the better Androids. That's y I am trying to get the Nexus One, but I'm trying to get it for cheap as possible.

Until then, how is that 2.0 rom your running on the g1 going? is it still running smooth, also Dro, how's the new Cyanogen? Since i'm having problems getting the Nexus for my price i need to put a new rom on my G1.

Im just gonna cross my fingers and be patient in regards to the Motoroi. I would kick myself if I bought the Nexus and I really wanted the Motoroi and it DID drop lol. As far as the new Cyan, I havent had an issue @ all. No glitches or anything. Im running The Bluest Day theme.. pretty hot. Very close to what Experion was SUPPOSED to be.

but it no contract from google's store then choose the tmobile month to month plan and they will finance the 529 in 20 payments

you can change the rate plan after activation

AAA has free activation and a 15% monthly discount- call up and get it after service is established etc- id do it now but i cant get into my web account until the phone gets here since they send the passwd by text

huh? so your saying the 529 can be financed into 20 payments meaning my bill would be an extra $20 a month and once I get the phone I can change the plan back to my current g1 plan?? I thought I heard somebody say u can't change from the Nexus One plan.

Then lookn at tmo's march roster (Zeppelin, mytouch slide out, mytouch 1.2) i don't think that Roi is coming for another few months. Even if it does, selling the Nexus for atleast $200 a few months from now shouldn't be a problem, infact i'm selling my g1 for $100, so i'm deducting that from the final price i pay for the Nexus.

Guess i'll go ahead and flash Cyanogen. That theme is similar to the xepherion, it doesn't have that same problem with caller id pics hogging up the entire screen does it?

yeah - you cant select any but one plan when u sign up on google's site but you can change your plan when you get your phone and upgrade to unlimited

i read that you can get a finance option if you select unlocked and that if your credit is good enough they will finance it as 20 payments on your month to month - that ends up being $5 more than the contract monthly rate

yeah they just added the existing customer 279 rate in the past day or two- in another week they will add more plan options im sure


also you cant get insurance through tmo
but u can get it thru square trade for $529 for "other electronic device" dont do a cell
then you can send it in for repairs free for 3yrs or break it and get $529 -$79 original cost and $50 deductible
so $400 anytime for your phone and if you pay 279 or 179 you make out good
no theft or lost protection there though

To Royal: The current themed rom im using is SMOOTH as hell. Using a Wes Garner kernel as the pulse, this rom is VERY fast and stable. He makes updates almost every other day if there is an issue or just to keep the code unbloated and clean. Me and a couple of buddies have abandoned Cyan Roms for lack of improvement. Ever since 4.2.5 its all been downhill, and ALSO given the fact that he has a N1 now and making ROMs for it...The G1 for him will be taking a backseat.

To Darkmeat and other N1 users: I feel what yall saying and I guess maybe I will have to see one in action. I tinkered with a droid a few days ago from my co-worker and loved it. Although it was funny as hell when he saw my g1 and got pissed cause he didnt have the 2.1 firmware W/LWP. He walked off and started playing with my shyz

To Royal: The current themed rom im using is SMOOTH as hell. Using a Wes Garner kernel as the pulse, this rom is VERY fast and stable. He makes updates almost every other day if there is an issue or just to keep the code unbloated and clean. Me and a couple of buddies have abandoned Cyan Roms for lack of improvement. Ever since 4.2.5 its all been downhill, and ALSO given the fact that he has a N1 now and making ROMs for it...The G1 for him will be taking a backseat.

Its almost the same size as the Nexus.. so I guess they are both bulky. HDMI and a good camera are huge selling points to me. Like I said, if the G1 had a good came, I would be fine staying with it. With all the similiarities between the 2 phones, the price point will be the final deal breaker, hence the reason Im good being patient.

Google to Add Multitouch to More Android Apps

Last month when Google launched HTC's Nexus One" smartphone, its Web browser, Google Maps and Picture Gallery applications all lacked pinch-to-zoom multitouch gestures. Earlier this week, Google released an update for the Nexus One that enables pinch-to-zoom in these applications. It now turns out that this update will not be limited to the Nexus One.

Soon, Google will unleash a new Android platform release called "Android 2.1 – Update 1," which will include the updates for all Android manufacturers, the company said.

Once Google makes it available, it would be possible for any Android devices that have a touch screen with multitouch capability to offer pinch-to-zoom gestures in the Web browser, maps and gallery applications. That could potentially include every Android phone now available in the U.S. But notice the fine print: Google is releasing this to manufacturers, not directly to users. It will be up to Motorola, Samsung, HTC and the wireless carriers to boil the new software down for their individual phones.

The Motorola Droid (which currently runs Android 2.0.1 and the Motorola CLIQ (which runs Android 1.5) will most likely receive Android 2.1 - Update 1. Last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las, Vegas, Motorola chief executive Sanjay Jha said that both phones will receive updates to Android 2.1 "as shortly as possible." Sprint has also announced that their HTC Hero and Samsung Moment phones will receive Android 2.1 updates during the first half of 2010.

Zei, that link plus many other google searches i've done show the Roi coming to USA in March but don't say TMobile. Besides only thing i'm getting is tmo releasing Zeppelin, Mytouch slide out and Mytouch with headphone jack. I don't think Tmo will drop all that and the Roi in 1 month. You really think Tmo is going to drop the Roi? That shyt is too fancy for them, that Zeppelin bullshyt is some friendly lookn shyt that fits tmo's image, the Zeppelin has that same mytouch, motorola cliq look with a friendly high school/kitchen mom look. Also i'm not infatuated with assumed specs. Remember before most phones come out, they have all these rumored specs and then when it drops specs are slightly different. Remember the Nexus One was rumored to have a 4.3 inch screen and flash. If the Roi does come out, it shouldn't be a problem to sell the Nexus if I feel the Roi is that much better or i'm not happy with the Nexus. Really, not just this thread, but other sites, mofo'z are really starting to talk big about the Nexus. It seems that many of the bugs are out and people are really loving this phone. I've never saw it in person, but i've heard great shyt about the screen and things. I'll sleep on this shyt 2nite, i'd hate to buy it locked, but Google is telling me $279, so since I can't get it on craigslist for my price of $400 to $450 i guess I will cave in to buying it locked. I just can't wait anymore. "it's calling me"

Far as apps go, I haven't been to Market in weeks, I haven't been looking period, I guess i've been on that i'll wait til I get a new phone for everything will be fresh. That's the reason I've been back and fourth on installing that 2.0 rom, when I get a new phone I want shyt to be new. When I sell my g1 I think i'm gonna root it back to Cyanogen's earlier roms because his roms seemed smoother back then, who knows...i'm staying home 2nite, all by myself maybe i'll flash a new rom............

If you by the phone unlocked you'll save more money in the long run compared to the locked phone with that bullshit plan. Do the math. When I did the math, I saved $10 at the end of two years if I would have bought the phone for $529 compare to buying the phone for $179 plus the bullshit plan. If you have a really good plan, no phone is worth losing it over.

Do the math and think about.

Royal, do yourself a favor and buy the phone unlocked. If you buy the phone with that bullshit TMO plan you can't get out of that plan for two year. Research it.

yeah that's y i said i better sleep on it, the only thing is nobody is taking my $400 offer and i'm tired of waiting, I don't see myself paying $500, so that's y I've been contemplating buying it from google locked.
