The show has it's moments but that is not one of them. That actually goes back to what I've been saying about how the show depicts all types of love and acceptance. Because believe me there is NOTHING romantic going on between Pearl and Amethyst.

Well I take that back. They (Homeworld Gems) don't fuse out of 'love' so technically they have to actually show feelings of togetherness to be lesbians to fuse out of love, i.e. Garnet. Big Ruby is made of five Rubies who fuse because it gets the job done, not because it builds on emotions. This is the case with Pearl and Amethyst.

Pearl is in love with Rose, not Ruby. And to be quite honest, I don't think it's love more so than it is a deep admiration and respect. Pearl is confusing feelings created during a time of war with what Garnet (Ruby and Sapphire) has. I think that's why Greg also sees Pearl's infatuation with Rose a little weird, but he respects it because he knows where it came from.

I don't know when you grew up but as a kid......cartoons had some fucked up shit on them. IT wasn't as obvious as it is now but it was obvious enough for kids to take notice. That Ren and Stimpy shit was fucked up.
