For my people who MAC at hoes fo real and not just on their PC

I'm seriously considering making the switch to mac. I have a lot dvds (sorry, no porn) saved on my hard drive. Does anybody know if I can burn them on a mac? I know they have toast and popcorn but will they burn dvd files that were ripped with windows.

Also, how good is Mac ripper? Does it rip most new dvds.

What software is essential to have?

Personally, I'd say Vmware Fusion because it lets me run XP inside OSX. There are other options, but this works the best for me.

Flip4mac is needed to play Windows Media files on a Mac.
Perian enables QuickTime application support for additional Media Types:
AVI, FLV, and MKV file formats

AVI support for: AAC, AC3 Audio, H.264, MPEG4, and VBR MP3
Subtitle support for SSA and SRT

If you install the above packages then you can play most video files downloaded from BGOL. :cool:

I use MacPAR Deluxe to unpack RAR files.
 
Can i ask what program you used to unzip the cs3?
Because ive used MacPAR and Stuffit and its not unzipping

To unzip ZIP files I use the default unzip program (Bomarchiver) that came with OSX.
What's the file extension that you're trying to unpack ? Is it RAR, ZIP etc ?? :confused:
 
anyone here use visualhub?

if so what settings do you use?

i can leave it at standard when converting some old school kung fu movies but i have some high def movies that need to be converted and i dont want to downgrade the quality, at least not by too much.


anyone have settings they care to share? meant to play ps3/360 via streaming
 
Thanks bigirl! That program showed me which ones were giving me an error. So i re downloaded that part and it works!
 
how do you create an .m3u file?


i am using twonkymedia for sharing to my ps3/360

it recognizes albums, songs etc but not my itunes playlist

but it does recognize .m3u files

so i could take one of my playlists and create an .m3u file and use that while playing video games

but i dont know how to create them on a mac

Finally figured out how to edit AVI and MPG files on the MAC without converting the file. :hmm:
With SimpleMovieX you edit the video file in their native format.

Still looking for a serial (saving is allowed in the trail mode).

Thanks, but those serials are blacklisted and I couldn't start the application afterwards. :hmm:
Move or delete the file com.BJ.SimpleMovieX.plist from the $HOMEDIR$/Library/Preferences Folder to make the application usable again.
