I don't have a strict rule about redboned or chocolate sistas. but i always like a thick redbone or a chocolate slimmee. don't know why but skinny redbones look like addicts and thick chocolate sistas look too thick. I know it's not true but thats what i generally look for.

I only think I saw one man say he preferred light skinned women. That kind of disproves the point that most black men like light women. Although, I prefer light women. Dark women don't make my dick jump like light women. I just like watching their light colored booty against me when I'm penetrating from the back. I have always been more attracted to dark women. Give me a choice between a pretty light skin woman and a pretty dark woman and I will pick the dark woman every time. The reason is that the dark woman will 9 times out of 10 have a better attitude and personality. The light skin woman will tend to be snobbish and have that "Im better than you attitude". At least this has been my experience.

Do I have a preference? Yes I do, for brown skinned women (think Vanessa Williams from Soul Food). With that being said, I will say that while I do not rule out dark skinned women, the ones that I do find attractive are few and far between. But when they come around, it's like nothing else (think Bria Myles). As for light skinned women, I am not too keen on them (think Faith Evans).

Excellent point you bring up, bigeasy, about how where you grow up skews your viewpoint. Growing up in New Orleans, most attention and depth was given to light skinned women. Shucks, the lighter, the better. The fact that even though I'm light skinned, but a little closer to a caramel, peanut butter complexion than a, eh, lighter color put me towards the back burner when it came to dating guys. I see your point when I do think, from where I grew up, yes, some lighter skinned women did develop this, "cause I'm light, I'm better than you" attitude because, in New Orleans, more men preferred them.

Current girl is medium, kinda caramel colored.

I honestly don't have a preference, BUT I do notice that light-skin sistas do pay attention to me more than dark-skinned sistas. Maybe its because I"M dark-skinned.. i dont know.

I'am a huge fan of dark women it crosses over into other races too. Dark skin asian women, indian, and pacific islanders drive me wild. I love chocolate complexions and all it's variations.

Two of the darkest people I know had a little girl Halle Berry's complexion. My brother and his girl are darkskin and my niece is very light brown (yes they had the paternity its definitely my brother's!). Our phenotypes are not our genotypes.

All this light skin, dark skin talk is really beginning to get on my nerves. Black women whatever shade you are,you in my eyes are the most beautiful women on this planet.
Me personally I've dated both light skinned and dark skinned women. Never once did her shade of colour come into play in regards on whether I would date her or not. I've looked beyond the looks of a woman when it comes to dating.
