Foam Insulation Biz

I was laid off from Verizon a few months ago and I'm really not that high on going back to Corporate America.

A neighbor of mine boyfriend(WB) already has his on Custom Home Building business and now he and one of his business partners are venturing into foam insulation.

Anyway to make a long story short, he asked if I would be interested in managing his crew and would provide me with a new Ford F-250, gas card and cell phone allowance. I would also need to become familiar with the business as well as learn how to install the insulation myself. That's really not a problem for I would like to know how to do the trade as better as my crew.

Ok...Ok...Here's the kicker, I would have to get my own insurance and the position would be a salaried position in which they have asked me to come up with a figure in mind and discuss it with them by weeks end.

I've been in corporate America most of my adulthood and really wouldn't know where to start such a figure. I tried to research the net to find out more about the biz but wasn't able to find much info. There's only two companies where I live now offering the service and I really think with all the energy and health benefits this would be a great opportunity for me as well as a very profitable business.

What I'm needing is some input as to how would I approach the salary without short changing myself and where would I go to get insurance for my family. My wife works for a company however the insurance would be ridiculously high per month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Find out the cost of insurance and offset that by 20 to 30% when you give your salary. I would cost it out depending on how big of an operation it is. If they are large I would say somewhere around 70k to 80k but that could be a lot less that you should be getting. This is a hard one but if I were you I would look into the business and talk with others to get a good idea of what project managers are making.

hope that helps

I've search around locally but I wasn't able to find out anything. I'll take what you suggested into account though....Thx :)
