I am not sure how to respond.
In one sense, I completely understand, as I have been trying to find a place where I can afford to eat and buy toilet paper at the same time. Unfortunately, most of the desirable places are too expensive for me to survive without working (Canada would be my first choice).
I have considered the Caribbean, but I find the attitudes, mind set, whatever you want to call it, is similar to what you describe here. If I were willing to settle that much, I might as well move to Mississippi, buy 40 acres and call it a life. Maybe settle down with a woman the size of a small steer, until such time I can't take it anymore and put a shotgun barrel in my mouth.
Would I be correct in assuming the people where you are tend to be on the religiously devout side? They damn sure are EXTREMELY CATHOLIC through South and Central America, which is part of the reason I have not settled there. I think Asia might work out for me. The people are far less aggressive, and it is the least expensive place I have found. Coonery is not an issue, as nearly everyone is Asian, and most seem to want to live and let live. Of course there are exceptions, but that is the nature of this reality.
