FLASH TRAILER!!!! TAKE ALL MY MONEY RIGHT NOW!!!

On the real side, it did feel like 2 completely different people. He killed that shit. I have no problem divorcing the person from their job. I say bring him back as the Flash in the new universe. Fuck it. I don't care if Ezra has to do work release from prison.

I was clowning Ezra without mercy. Made me eat my words. I don't mind that shit though. I'll take being entertained over being right.

DC should have found a way to keep this Gunn shit underwraps.

YeahI know the Gunn shit really ruined it I don't know if that was the purpose or if it was just sloppy. Hell I had no interest in seeing this shit I waited until it was released on demand. Just took the joy away.

Ezra did his thing though. Can't take that from him. I see their vision. Might be too toxic to bring back but shit they sure as hell seem like they gonna try.

The Flash is already available on PPV.

It didn't take itself too seriously.
Loved the humor.
The acting.
The throwback to old school DC characters (which I grew up on)
The parts with his mother felt authentic.
It didn't have a traditional "happy ending" but was still satisfying.

I respect it.

I think the over hype and burden really muddied the experience for many

It WAS funny and that was really needed in the Snyderverse sadly it was too little too late

There we diverge

Ezra acting with himself was outstanding. But their acting overall I didn't like.

Super girl, Batman were great needed more of them

I think from most comments I've read it's that they did NOT properly honor the dc legends that caused the disappointment.

The mother suddenly being Hispanic threw long time fans. I thought it was fine but not that memorable for me. I might actually check that again.

I probably should have prefaced my statement that I am a "Casual Fan" these days. I was into comic book scenes prolly 30 years ago.

I can see the die-hards not liking certain things. i went into this movie with no expectations or background on current dynamics etc.
I thought the mom looked like someone that could be his mom in real life. Sad that people want a story to be 100% white lol.

But YOU are the target audience

The studios need people like YOU to support these movies to make a profit. They already know they got MOST of us on lock. So I'm glad you enjoyed it.

99% of the time I could completely care less about the ethnicity of a character.

Iris is white in comics but black in the movies and TV. No difference on her character, in fact probably was an improvement because of Flash law enforcement background

And trust me as much as in comic book circles the flash mom death is a Flashpoint pun intended, her race - isn't critical

But it was done oddly.

You never had the Flash embrace ANYTHING at all about his mom or culture like that. The most traumatic and defining moment of your life and NOTHING about your mother's heritage? That don't sit right. It would have been so easy to do. It was lazy and I could even see offensive to shoe horn it in like that for no reason. But I saw it as more amusing really.

The entire film for me was OK but if you start really dissecting crumples quick. Again the controversy and expectations messed with it more than anything.

I broke down my thoughts earlier in here

Good view points that I can't even argue with. It's certainly a FINE LINE between making a quality product that satisfies the hard-core and causal fans.
I went in not know very much about Flash tbh. I had no idea what his background was. I just saw a dude who looked like he could have a Hispanic mother and never thought twice about it again.
As far a controversies, all I heard was that dude had a sexual assault charge pending but I never looked more into the headline. If he guilty, do the time. If innocent, go free.
:dunno:

yeah, I've always tried to porpusely avoid the "background" of some movies when I've had the luxury to that is.

my favorite one ever was watching Lord of the Rings for the 1st time ever in 2001 at the theater.. Never had read the books, never looked at an interview, totally went in blind. Saw the previews (similar to this Flash movie) and thought "hey that looks cool, I'll give it a watch". Glad I did lol. mind blown the next 2.5 hours.
