First look: the new Mac Pro

What about the regular people who like nice shit? Apple seems to be trying to price regular people out so they buy ipads and ditch macos.

Starting at $5k, kinda expensive for a porn machine.

Apple isn't pricing regular people out, this isn't meant for the average consumer.

The iMac and Mac Mini are for the average consumer.

This is a professional grade tool, not your families computer.

Naw, the IMAC starts off a lot cheaper if you don't need the hardware of a super high-end machine.

The Mac Mini is a nice media computer if that is all you are looking to do. I have one that is about 7 years old still going strong as a web surfing, music, and movie machine.

The only thing that could fuck it up is Apple cutting off OS support for it.

An applestan will pay any price to by products from apple even if they have to pretend they are developers.

Stop acting like you're fucking Apple's faggit ass president, maybe you wish you were.
I just don't like to see ignorance when it comes to technology.

This machine isn't made for developers or the average consumer.

This is made for television, movie, animation studios or 3d rendering houses.

You are in every apple thread defending apple like tim cook is your gay father.

I've been in IT for a long time. Been on the buying side of things and hands on.
What I don't understand with your statement with my background is that, if this is made for a different audience, of professionals, then why show this at an event to the public. They know what they doing like I said. They know the average "dude" is gonna want that.

If they were meant for high end pros, which in today's day and age, everyone is making vids for social media content or whatever else, they will buy it. I have bought in the past Dell, HP and Compaq on their high end side, shit you won't see on the website. Stuff not marketed to even their regular corp managers for acquisition. So I understand keeping certain machines for certain clientele.

But Apple knows exactly what theyre doing.

They may even be showing this now and when it goes live in the fall, alongside this, market a "Pro Lite" for maybe $3,500 to $4k. That's just business/marketing. Show the highest price to those that want to feel "included" in the "club" and also show the lighter fare for those that can't afford it.

We will see in due time.

I don't know any average cats that have Mac Pro's or even want one.

The Macbook and iMac line ups, yes but Mac Pros, no.

Could be the people that I know but I doubt the average person even knows what a Mac Pro is.

This is for people creating Pixar level content, not Youtubers editing videos shot in 4k.

I doubt they going to make a lite version of this. They've never made a lite version for the pro desktops.

Studios love the Mac Pro line and will spare no expense to get them.

I haven't heard anyone talking about WWDC outside of this thread.

I agree in due time.

I said earlier in the thread, these dudes are raping people off the hype, as usual.

This desktop is not what it's hyped up to be. Xeon processors are slower than i9 in the comparison studies and they spec'd out a faster system for $2,200. But Apple, as usual, will bend people over and give it to them with no grease.

I didn't copy and paste this article, but it breaks down their assumed hardware, because they are making an intelligent guess as no one knows exactly what's inside yet. But is a good read of you want to build a faster box today, running on an i9
