Finally Here We Go Economic Empowerment!!

Check out Broadway Federal. That's the one I'm with. They one in downtown L.A and another one Inglewood.

1.jpg

I can do that. I live in the DC area so I'm sure there has to be one or two up here or in PG County. I travel a lot with my job so I also hope I can find an ATM that won't charge me a lot of fees for withdrawals out of town.

Man I already got my room booked I'm making that trip to LA and move my doe to my people. We slowly moving the right direction. You can't keep the chosen ppl down for too long.

Man listen. If we put our money into a black bank and build it up and Wells Fargo want's to swoop in and buy it...guess what? The same way we put our money in that bitch we can take it out. Stop worrying about "what if's" before you even make a simple move. We talkin $100 minimum investment. I was just contemplating buying a comic book worth that much. It ain't shit. But the message it sends collectively...

It's the "You Gone Git Us In Trouble/Yous Betta Leaves Town" mentality.

Do we have a list of black banks by state?
Where is there a black bank in NY metro area?

Maryland,

I love this movement, but I hope we aren't naive enough to think that if black banks start receiving huge percentages of black dollars that the owners of these black banks won't sell out when banking giants take notice. Wasn't BET black owned until they become so successful that whites saw an opportunity?I'm gonna need to hear these bank owners say they're not for sale.
Capital one couldve sold out long ago- and who are you to question THEM when you already have your money in a white bank anyway? At worst, you'll be in the same situation you're already in.

Well when I opened my account in a white bank I wasn't doing it empower my people. I was doing it so I could write checks and save money. It doesn't really matter where you bank if that's all you're trying to do. But if I went to a black bank I'm trying to uplift black people. I need to know my initial purpose is being served.

Again- if that happened that they sold to a white bank, then you will be right where you are now

I don't understand the skepticism in this case though

If citizens trust has been around since 1921, what else must they do to gain your trust?
I thought we were speaking in general terms about start up black banks. I've never heard of citizen's trust. Where is that bank at?:confused::confused::confused:

Lol nah, there are already tons of Black banks. Citizens trust is in Atlanta.

I dunno about you but when I was a kid my parents and all my friends parents took us to open accounts in black banks. My first account was in George Washington carver state bank. When I moved to another city I moved to a regional bank that was basically white. I moved one more time from that bank to Wachovia which became wellsfargo. I have had all loans through that and never considered Changing.

I did have something at cap city, the other black bank in ATL but - well shit back then I must've needed money and took it out lol. I'm not sure if they're still open.

Now with technology I could very well operate out of citizens trust as easy any other I guess.

Well I've never had a problem admitting when I was wrong or ignorant. This is another one of those times. I'll find an established black bank this year and open an account. Thanks for the lesson.:oops::oops:

All good bro. Gotta thank whoever made this thread for posting that long list of banks on the first page. This has been a wake up call in some ways for some of us to start doing something and a reminder that we have people who have BEEN doing something. In the case if citizens , theyve been on it since 1924 and WE left them. We fucked up.

Update: Went down to LA from the Bay. Opened up a new checking account w/ One Unite Bank on Crenshaw and it earns interest but not that much 0.20%. Nothing to jump for joy, but it's better than chase. I get free money order, cashiers checks, and other services. The brothers and sisters were coo even met the CEO for a min then he went to do a photoshoot. They said they would put a location in the bay but nothern Cali residents would have to demand for one. Leave comments and messages suggesting they open a One Unite Bank out here in the bay. But it doesn't stop here. I've been on a mission to support black businesses daily for the past year.

I agree - we should've been practicing group economics way before this like other ethnic groups.

Some black people needed to be reminded that we are all we got in order for them to take action. Most of these black people probably have comfortable jobs and live in decent neighborhoods. They realized none of that meant shit if you can go outside and get in your car and get killed by a race soldier.

We definitely need to keep the momentum going and branch off into other areas. Every morning we wake up we should ask ourselves " what can I do to promote black supremacy today" and act on it, b/c white supremacy never takes a day off. If we can get enough of us to think like that we can change a lot of shit.

The strength is in our unity and Amerikkka knows that, which is why they reward coons and coonettes handsomely. I firmly believe white people know things about us that we don't know about ourselves. Most archaeologist are white. There is no telling what they have found out about us.
I've been working really hard on the plan for our neighborhoods that regardless of who is president will take us where we need to go. Group economics. We are the only ethnic group not properly practicing it. I can't go into full detail now, but this idea will completely remove the Asians and the Arabs and Indians from our black community because I'll give an offer that the community can't refuse

Bump since the movement died down
