I was flipping stations yesterday and came across Chris Gardner (Pursuit of Happiness dude) and he said something profound:

"You can be a father by being there, but if there is no emotional connection with your kids, you might as well be an absent father."

I thought about this, and it explains my relationship with my father. He was there, but not there.

Kudos to this dad and the amazing project he did with his son.

I feel you man...Read my last comment: Some of us had fathers who were there, but not there...Feel me.

I remember my dad taking us out on Saturdays to go play tennis. Shit was fun...He later got into the cycle of chasing women, and we barely saw this dude. Came home late, and never there on the weekends
