Seems to me the Russians hacked the systems to fuck with the public. It doesn't take that long to fix an error message sent out. They probably don't know how it was sent out.

Hawaii sends terrifying ‘false alarm’ about ballistic missile

A fake alert of an incoming ballistic missile hit cell phones across Hawaii on Saturday.
Multiple people began tweeting about an emergency alert they received on their cellphones around 1:15 pm Eastern time.
“Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill,” the alert read.
“Did anyone else’s iPhone just tell them there’s a ballistic missile headed for Hawaii and to take cover immediately?” Twitter user @easytga wrote.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard quickly tweeted to debunk the alert.
“HAWAII – THIS IS A FALSE ALARM. THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE TO HAWAII. I HAVE CONFIRMED WITH OFFICIALS THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE,” she wrote at 1:19 p.m. Eastern time.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command confirmed to The Post there is no danger.
“There is no threat at this time,” Public Affairs Officer Joe Nawrocki said. “We’re actually trying to figure it out right now. We don’t know if it was a test and someone forgot to put, ‘This is a drill.’
“There is absolutely no incoming ballistic missile threat to Hawaii,” he added.

Hawaii Gov. David Ige told CNN that human error caused the alert to go out.
"It was a mistake made during a standard procedure at the change over of a shift, and an employee pushed the wrong button," he said.

I was watching "Back to The Future" last night and I found it interesting that 33 years later we're still weary of "Islamic terrorists"; Doc finessed Libyans out of building a bomb for them. Plus 63 years later we're still worried about nuclear bombs from communists; Doc thought the reason his future-self was wearing a hazmat suit was due to nuclear bombing fallout. Granted; the countries might've changed, but the threats are still the same.
Bombers for defense? I’m not a military guy but how is a bomber going to defend an incoming missile?
The bombers go in first to disable high value targets. The B-2 can load 48 nuclear bombs each.
