Ever Wanted to be a secret shopper?

What part of the country? What types of assignments?
I'm in VA where the work is backed up like crazy. The assignments are the grocery store audits. They normally pay 8 dollars an hour for these but no one will take these tedious assignments for such low pay. The reps started blowing my phone up and offering me 25 dollars for the first hour and 8 for every hour after that. You can do these things in like an hour and a half and charge them the full 5 hours. The only tedious part about the assignment is you have to log all that information online which can take close to 2 hours. You basically go in a grocery store and log the prices and sale prices of the items on your list. There are 250 items in all. If you don't mind a little walking around the store it's pretty easy money in my opinion.

I may have spoke a bit too soon fam. These niggas paid me just fine on the first 2 pay periods. This weekend however they put a hold on my direct deposit. I can't reach anyone and get any info why they just put a hold on my bread like that. I'm done with marketforce for real. It only takes one time for them to play with my money. For now I'm saying fuck Marketforce until this issue is resolved. Scandolous

it aint easy money..they make you work for it
It's really easy if you pick the right Jobs. I should see around 420 dollars in my direct deposit this week. Really none of the jobs are physically hard. I did a Bestbuy last night and all I had to do was put sales stickers on all the Nintendo DS handhelds. The job pays low but you make your money by taking like 10 of them all in your area. Like maybe 5 or 6 miles total. The jobs only take like 10 -15 minutes tops. I don't know about the others but Marketforce is pretty legit. They did scare me by holding my money a bit long last pay period. I'll see how they do this period. (They payout twice a month)

These niggas better pay me my money. My car payment is due and these boys is playing. Hopefully it hits tonight at midnight :hmm:

Man I intentionally grinded out our car payment this month to free up some cash so we can have a little bit of breathing room this month.

Well I'll be...here I go choppin it up w/ u and they done deactivated my account, probably cause I ain't shop with them in over a year.

I figured I would see what was in my area...so now I gotta wait til next week.

I did a shop for trendsource for papa johns and they cut the pizza wrong so I couldn't do the pictures correctly. It's not my fault but I think they want me to take the L. Gotta be careful about shit like that

Marketforce paid a brother once again. Shit, for all you niggas who don't have regular jobs you can work Marketforce and hustle up a decent little piece of change if you have the time. I only have time in the evenings and I mangaged about 500 + this past month. I figure if you go hard you could get by until you found a real job.

Not necessarily. Depends on the area you are in. In the Atlanta area, all they have now is McDonald's & Five Guys. Maybe a Hollister here and there. But I'd love to be in your area and made some good money, like the good ol days here.

I have yet to do a Mcdonalds or 5 guys. I guess I should qualify my statement with "until the work dries up". In VA they have assignments like crazy right now. I can dip between MD, VA , and D.C. for assignments with no problems.CVS has those Halloween candy audits coming up throughout the entire region so you brothers need to jump on that easy 42 dollars per assignment.Work 1 hour and get paid for 4.Should be in every city starting next week.

I did this for one of them but it was only 6 bucks and I had to spend 4 bucks on a sandwich, I didn't like it so I backed out.

Seems like the jobs in Florida are very low pay.

Man I got back out there on Tuesday, did a new home shop for $30. Forgot how much work it is doing the reports, but at least I got a perfect score. I might step it up in October, see what's out there again.

Anyone got some info on Corporate Research International. I just did 4 assignments. 3 Murphy gas stations and 1 Cici's Pizza. How are they about depositing money? They came claim 10/29. I received 4 perfect scores on the reports.

I had to go the gas stations and purchase a pepsi, take 3 pics and have someone attempt to purchase a tobacco product without showing ID (i'm too old so I took someone else). Took all of 2 mins each stop.

The prices quoted are like $15, $12 and $12 plus the cost of the pepsi sodas. For the pizza place the commission was only $2 but the pizza price is being reimbursed. I see it as getting a pizza for free.

Easy work. If I get paid then this is a way to make some easy money and eat for free with little effort.

I did my first shopping without booking the assignment as a test. i was prepared to come home and book it and submit the report. The commission was $22. Sike. Somebody booked the assignment while I was out doing my trial run. In spite of the fact that the job had been posted for about 7 days. They would wait to Sunday to snatch it away from me. My lost. I learned from my mistake. But it did motivate me to go ahead and book the other 3 gas stations.

Which shoppers pay in the shortest span? I don't want to do a shop and have to wait 45 or 60 days to get paid.

45-60 days is really the norm. Looking @ my spreadsheet, I did a CRI shop in January 2009, it took 13 days for me to get paid, but I wasn't given the complete amount at first. They sent an email saying a job would pay $30, but I only got paid $20. So I had to get in folks ass about that. So it took 44 days to get complete payment, from the day I shopped to me getting paid.

GfK pays quick, I got paid in 8 days from them one time.

Normally it depends on WHEN you do the shop, how quickly you get paid, because most are on their own payment schedules. When in doubt, just ask them up front when you would get paid.

Thanks for the info.

I just signed up for GFK. No shops available in my area. Curses.

Bruh, any info on Aboutface. I signed up for them a couples weeks ago. Haven't did anything with them.

So far they have been cool with me. Did a new home shop w/ them a couple weeks ago, got 5/5 on the report. They take a while to pay, but usually before 60 days.

Just got paid from the audit shop I did 10 days ago, shopping company was iMyst. They are one of the fastest in the industry, forreal. Did a shop yesterday too @ Wal-Mart. Feels good to be back!

Here is my testimonial/update as a new secret shopper.

I have been a shopper for Corporate Research International for less than a month. I've been very selective with the assignments that I have accepted. Just trying to get a feel for the business. I missed out on some easy money and some pricey assignments. Now I have a better understanding of how the game is played with this company.

I have spent about 4 hrs in total time as a mystery shopper (with CRI) which includes travel, shopping and submitting the info for the online shopper reports. I did 8 jobs. Made $85 plus a free pizza, 5 sodas, 5 candy bars and $16 dollars in gas.

Being a secret shopper is not a 2nd career but it does pay.

I will include a new company next month. Looking for a company that have assignments in central Florida and pays in the shortest time span.

Since me and the old lady got some pretty good money coming in this month I took a month off from Mystery shopping. I'm gonna grind in November though. Already got 5 assignments lined up starting on the first. . Market Force pays like twice a month for those who want to know. Usually Tuesday at midnight.

when you're ready for the big leagues...coylehospitality.com you have to know the 10/5 rule and give so much detail it's ALMOST not worth it...mind you i said..almost

Coyle is garbage. There are so many other companies out there that make you jump through less hoops than them, and you get more in return for it.

Maybe you had a good experience with them, but after they refused to reimburse me for a late night bar shop, I said da hell with them. They are second only to Maritz for companies on my shit list.

Just got paid from a shop I did with About Face back in September. From shop to payment, it took 37 days.

To get used to a regular income when mystery shopping, basically you have to keep shopping each and every month...then you know to expect money from whoever, whenever.

LOL! How many shops you do with them before they showed their true colors?

When I was new, I found out they did hotels and resorts. I was like...man...lemme get some of these restaurants under my belt, and work my way up...

I did a Dantannas shop (here in Atlanta) for my first one. I got reimbursed, but they had something to say about it. I'm like, ok, cool, I learned from that one, imma do better the next go round...

Then I have a Whiskey Park bar shop, did everything they asked me to do, but they didn't accept my report because I forgot to ask for a receipt. Here's my issue with that: they wanted me to pay CASH for the drinks...now who do you know pays cash at a bar and asks for a receipt?!

Not to mention the time it takes to write in the specific format they like and jump through hoops like a show dog. I lost $52 or so on that shop, but I was w/ my GF @ the time so it was like I was just treating her for the night (but I was still pissed cause normally the bitch would only get a bottle of wine taken back to the house, ya dig?)

But anyway...just did a car wash shop, about to input the data, and then I have 1 trailer check tonight, 3 audits tomorrow, 7 shops this week where i have to put a sticker on some phone packages, and a Cinnabon shop later this month, in like 2 weeks.

Gotta get that cheese man

man i just wrote a fucking book and they scored it 13 out of 20, because i didn't put how the person was smiling on the 4th water pour..its ridiculous the sheer amount of shit they want for such little money.

I've done 2 successful shops for buckalew and this was my 3rd shop for coyle, but it'll be my last. i cancelled the other one i had for this month..probably for the best.

Looking @ my old report...I got a 16 on my Dantannas shop w/ Coyle...bastards.

Here are the notes from that shop:

Thank you for the recent submission for Dantanna's. For any future assignment, please take note of the following client requirements:
- Please try to include many of the details that we discussed in email.
- The client requires a detailed narrative of a cash transaction in the bar. Please pay with cash such that change is required.
- Please keep the checklist comments to 3-5 words without capitals or punctuation. These comments are meant to be fragments that reference for the client more detailed information in the narratives.
- Clients request that food items be described in terms of temperature, presentation, portion size, and expectations. Please take care to ensure that all food order is accounted for.
- The client requires that food be consumed during the evaluation. Please do not order food To Go or take leftovers home with you.

When mistakes occur, such as your guest not being offered a drink or the potato order mixed up, please politely address the issue with the staff member and note the response. If no assistance or recourse is offered, simply observe that and move on. Include the interaction in the narratives as needed.

Thank you,
Carol Cox

This is why I f'ing hate Coyle. I don't understand how people shop for them. People had me thinking they were elite, but they are a bunch of bastards over there. If you ever want to feel inadequate, work with Coyle.

never again man...it's funny..i scored a 17 on my first one, a 19 on my second one and a 13 on the last one...but the middle one had a lot less detail...figures.

Ok some of you "I need my money now" dudes may like this...

Did a shop w/ TrendSource last week. Actually two shops. Received the money this morning! From shop to receipt of payment was 8 and 5 days, respectively. I think this is the quickest I ever got paid.

Can't pay any bills with it, but I can sure buy a nice lunch! I'm thinking...crab legs @ Joe's Crab Shack...
