Ever Wanted to be a secret shopper?

Can't you have other people like say, little nephews go out and do this for you?

The companies have no way to see if it's really YOU, do they?

I want to do this, but I don't really like going outside :smh:

I figure, I have 5 nephews, so I could sign up to 5 different companies, and have them doing the jobs simultaneously, while I sit back and collect the checks...would this work?

Um, no, you cannot PIMP YOUR FAMILY to do mystery shopping. You have to be over 18 and they have these things called CAMERAS that can verify if you were there or not. :smh:

:hmm:

Nice try tho.

January's earnings: $617.71
# companies contracted with: 11
# assignments/shops: 28
Average per shop: $22.06

This stuff is real folks. Almost made enough to cover my rent, but definitely enough to cover all bills. I already have 3 shops scheduled for February. Everyday y'all sleep on this, it's more money and opportunity for me!

January is over, so it's time to turn my attention to the next stream of income for February and maximize that one (this one will be ongoing from now on). If you have any questions, post them here or send me a PM.

A hermit secret shopper is like an oxymoron, man. You got to get out and work.

what is a list of about 10-15 good companies you would reccomend?^^^

Market Force
AboutFace
iMyst
Shoppers' View
A Customer's Point of View
Harland Clarke
Focus on Service
FeedBack Plus
GfK
Corporate Research International

Start with those to get your feet wet. I've been paid by each of these companies except for Harland Clarke (just did a shop with them 2 weeks ago) and ACPView.

How do i get started. need make some extra income took a big pay cut.

Just read this thread and start signing up with companies and doing research. Don't get it twisted, this takes WORK, which some are allergic to, but receiving payments in the mail, and in your PayPal account and in your bank account regularly every month is worth it to me.

To help y'all with organizing all the information, you can download the spreadsheet that I developed and have been using since October: http://rapidshare.com/files/195117217/Mystery_Shopping.zip

Measure Consumer Perpectives http://measurecp.com/
Market Force Information (770) 441-5366 https://www.marketforce.com/

Be careful w/ Goodwin, as they are running behind on paying shoppers. I got my check on Friday or shops I did in November and December 2008, but not without asking and talking to the head of the company. Everyone else is kosher.

Avoid Coyle Hospitality Group!!

Their reports are almost impossible to do. WAY too many details and they just denied one of mine. Never had one denied before, and they wouldn't answer my questions when I asked them what's up.

They are now on my shit list, and I'm out $43 that I otherwise wouldn't have spent. Oh well, you live and learn, and I was just paid by Harland Clarke basically the same amount, so I'm not crying over these chumps.

Keeps ya fingers crossed ladies and gents...did a hotel shop this weekend, and submitting the report tonight. Charges run in the HUNDREDS. But the charges are supposed to be reimbursed, and I get a fee on top of it. Will definitely keep the fam posted...

^^^bump

Fee has been approved...so on top of the reversal of the charges, I get $62 just to stay @ the hotel, get room service, drinks @ the lounge, dinner @ the restaurant, hot choc @ the coffee bar, valet service, bellman service, and doorman service. Will let you peeps know when the money hits the account so you know it's real.

Um, we still in a recession, you brothas (and sistas) too proud to do a lil work to get ya groceries, entertainment and lodging paid for??

Ok peeps, it just got real. All charges were refunded, hit my PayPal account today - $722.47. And since I used PayPal...I got 1% back when I initially charged it last week, so that was $7.22.

Total PROFIT on Valentine's Day 2009: $69.22

Not bad for treating ya lady on a special day. When I think about all the dinners and flowers I paid for, for different broads over the years, I wish I had found out about this long time ago!

Got another hotel this weekend, the Hilton. Room service, dinner, drinks @ the bar, everything reimbursed, plus getting paid $50 + tips.

And as far as that link SuperGenius, you use that to search for jobs. The best types of assignments are dependent on what you like to do...it's a personal decision. I may like trailer checking, you may like fast food assignments. It's all relative.

^^^bump^^^

Completed the Hilton, total was $515 and some change, and got $58 on top of that. For some reason the food at these places is not all that. Like...the chicken fingers @ the bar was better than the meal at the restaurant.

Dude had more properties for the month of April, but I had already been to two of em, so I'll wait to see what he has in store for May.

Kinda took a lil hiatus from shopping in the last month or so, but trying to get back into it. Not a lot of shops to be had lately...but will keep the fam posted.

Anyone else get into this game yet? It's not too late to position yourself now!

coolio is back!

Was just OFFERED two brand new hotel shops by one of my contacts because of the good work I did on two previous properties (as you all may know, the Hilton & Hyatt). Normally the guy shops first to get a feel for the place, but he's not gonna be able to make, so guess who is first on his list? :)

Now when I tell my girl about these shops, oh she is all up on it! (and all up on me, lol) She gets excited and can't wait to be pampered and indulge in luxury (and NOT at my expense!) I'll keep the fam posted on the progress...but a brotha can definitely use more loot and a vacation, so I may be killing two birds w/ one stone!

Interesting. Don't really need the money, but it seems like something to do when you have downtime. Free hotel stays? hmmm...

bump with a few updates!

Market Force has been very slack lately. Actually the whole industry seems like it has.

I may get into apartment shops because they pay $30 - $50 per shop, BUT I don't know how detailed the report is.

Haven't been doing too much more than theater shops lately because of my other business venture. Still, for the newcomers, use the info in this thread to get you some money in this STILL down market!

Good Info but what I would really like to get my hands on is the mystery shoppers that go to the post office. who pays them and who is on that list, if I knew in advance they were coming to my station I would make manager in.....nevermind :smh:

LOL!! I didn't even know the postal service had them! Well, if you do a good job and treat everyone like you should, you don't have to worry!

^^^bump^^^

Just got back from a two night shop in Chicago. I don't know about you all, but knowing that you will not be responsible for paying a $45 valet parking charge is worth it just by itself (and it was $45 for self-parking overnight too, so no way around it).

Until rates pick up, I may exclusively do hotels and restaurants. Never thought I'd be here so fast, but it's all in who you know and the information you receive.

Just signed up for Experience Exchange and signing up for market force now....

The highest pay I see here in Fla is 14.00 per hour, maybe I need to drive a bit north to get the higher bucks.

I did a 7 eleven for marketforce last night. I just wanted to see what it was all about. I made 4 bucks to basically take 3 pictures of the Verizon Phone setup.Took me less than 5 minutes to complete. They seem to have a lot of work in my area. Most jobs are way past due so I guess people do not want to be bothered because of the low pay. I'm gonna take all of the little quick jobs in my area and see how it works out. It's very real but the pay for all of the jobs are super low.

Pay used to be way higher for shops. I don't even check the boards anymore. Don't mind doing the work, but I'm not working for those super low wages. It's good to get your feet wet and find out what you want to do though.

Would like to do more hotel shops, those are my favorite.

Made a about 150 dollars in the last 4 days. I wasn't even going hard and spent a very minimal amount of time on each assignment.
