Espn 30 for 30: No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson

This just shows me how experiences in ones young life can be a blessing or a curse in adulthood.

*Places to avoid,W.Virginia & Virginia period*

You know the nigga that if anybody got robbed, bike got stolen, window got broken, or house got broken into there was always one cat who's name came up first? That was him. I haven't seen him since he was about 13 so I don't know what kind of person he became after that, but I do know that his car got shot up a couple of nights after he got drafted, so I'm sure he continued his behavior past his formative years.

damn...

i was that kid too, it's just in some people to be mischievous when young, doesn't matter how good you're raised, its a few in every neighborhood

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

clueless?

you think fame and millions makes one happy???

dude, grow up

that shit is more like a curse to some people

He rebuilt the boys club around the way when it burned down and has a celebrity softball game here every year. Can't think of too much other shit that he did.

I always thought he had a certain hatred for this area, because of what he went through.

That softball shit went away for a looooong time and went to DC and Philly.

All of the help he received, I think he could have done more for the youth. Michael Vick was sort of like that too, until he got in trouble and had to do it.

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you go to school?

A certain HBCU in the area

I remember when his car got shot up at HU

Every black kid that grew up here has a love/hate relationship with the area. I went away for a loooooong time too. He just did the softball game again here last year.

a lot of people had it worse growing up than iverson
and
they didn't make it to the nba getting paid millions of dollars

you here feeling sorry for a nigga that basically won the lottery.
GTFOH

30 for 30 is the shit.

I havent seen a bad one yet

I couldn't watch all of that Reggie Miller shit, so I'll take your word for it. I don't like that dude and to hear him talk :smh:

His whole career was built off the Knicks, because he was a slightly above average SG to me.

But The U, Len Bias, Ali/Fraizer, Jimmy The Greek ones were on point.

Damn iverson went through some shit. He should've chilled after that incident. He always bringing attention to himself. But the CAC's had me :angry::angry: at the TV for a minute. thats some sad shit, to me it seems like alot of politicians had alot at stake from Iverson's case. They had to make an example out of him to plaese the voters :smh:

This is a wild place fam. The O.J. verdict happened a little while before the Iverson thing, so that had the area tense as hell, then the Iverson thing went down, and about a year after the Iverson thing, the police hung a nigga, with his belt, outside of the Hampton Coliseum. Felt like I was living in the 60's during my high school years.

The story seemed pretty accurate as I remembered. I went to Phoebus, and before the trial, nobody at my school like him. But after the trial, everybody was pulling for him.

I went to Phoebus for 11th grade. You're right, nobody liked him at any school (even Bethel) but everybody put that shit to the side once the CAC's jumped on him.
