Who would you rather see portray Ol’ Dirty Bastard on the big screen: Eddie Griffin or Tracy Morgan?

In an interview with XXL, the beloved rapper’s cousin, RZA said the two actors are vying for the part in an upcoming biopic about the deceased rapper and as far as he’s concerned, either one is a good fit.

Eddie Griffin is down” he said. “Me and Eddie talked about it, laughed about it. Tracy Morgan, he wanna do it [too]. I said ‘Ya’ll both kinda can do it.’”

Asked who had an edge, the Wu-Tang Clan leader hinted at Griifin. “Eddie spent time with Dirty,” he shared. “They knew each other well.”

The ODB movie has apparently been in the works for some time now, with Raeshawn, another cousin of the wild and crazy rapper, penning the script.

“He’s been working on it for two years now,” RZA confirmed. “[In fact] I think Eddie’s already signed on with a letter of Intent—I signed on, of course. So you know [Raeshawn] got my blessin’ to make it happen.”

This isn’t the only Wu-Tang picture in the works. XXL broke the news that Raekwon’s story will be coming to the big screen, too. He has some star power connected to his flick as well including Cee Lo Green, who will be playing the Chef’s father.

Meanwhile The RZA recently finished shooting his directorial debut, The Man With The Iron Fist, in China. The long-awaited kung fu flick stars Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and Pam Grier, among others. Horror movie director Eli Roth also helped the Shaolin rap icon pen the script.http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2011/11/...to-play-ol’-dirty-bastard-in-biopic-rza-says/

Hip Hop truly overestimates it's importance. All bullshit aside. Is ODB's life really worthy of a big screen adaptation? A documentary, maybe, but a feature? Really?

White people make biopics about controversial, history changing figures like Hoover and we get movies about rappers. :hmm:

WTF  Do you know the magnitude of cultish Wu fans around the globe? White, black, Asian, etc. Additionally, like the other poster mentioned, Ol's life story is similar to a Greek tragedy.

Never was a Tracy Morgan fan but, check his small part in...

Brother, I was a Wu-Tang fan, but nothing about any of them makes me even remotely interested in a bio pic. ODB's life was fucked up, I'll grant you that, but so are a lot of famous people's lives. No disrespect for the dead, but was ODB really so influential that he deserves the big screen treatment?

Leave it alone man, some of these fools must be 90s babies, and do not understand the impact of the Wu

ODB was a memeber of one of the most influential and ground breaking groups in hip-hop. Despite ODB's influence, there are fans of his that would probably watch this film on the big screen. In the end it is about $$$

Miss me with that bullshit son. I didn't post my skepticism with this project to get into a "bigger fan" contest. You love Wu. I get it. But we're not talking about a Wu movie. We're talking about an ODB movie and I'm not seeing the point. I don't even see a point to a Wu movie honestly, but I'm not a superfan like that.

Let me put it to you like this...ODB's life was more important and impactful than yours

Wow! So I have obviously stumbled upon the undiscovered BGOL Cult of ODB's Infinite Significance. Apologies to all you acolytes out there.

So Wutang BITES/imitates the kung-fu flicks mania we grew up on in early 80's but someone they deserve special props for what exactly.........rapping.....yet KRS-One who pioneered so much shit in regards to rap just was unfortunate to be old before rap became a BUSINESS big corporations wanted a part of.

Yeah we will definitely overcome as a people one day at this rate, it will be right before the sun goes supernova....:smh::smh::smh:
