E3 2017 | Electronic Entertainment Expo

That Microsoft conference was trash. 5/10 would be generous. Why do we buy consoles? games. Bruh, xbox has no exclusives worth playing. The ones that are can be played on PC. $499 is not worth it for ori, state of decay 2 and crackdown 3. This xbox one has been collecting dust since early 2015. smh. The biggest cheer from the crowd came from backwards compatibility smh. dudes on xbox are happy about old ass games from the og xbox. man, I was hoping for more from xbox.

Microsoft proud of Xbox One X price
“We built this to be a premium product.”

The $499 price point for the Xbox One X may have taken some of the wind out of the sails of Xbox fans when it was announced at E3, but Microsoft says it’s “proud of the pricing.”

In an interview following the Xbox E3 press conference Sunday night, Aaron Greenberg, head of Xbox games marketing, joined Geoff Keighley on is Live at E3 show to discuss the new iteration of the Xbox One console.

Shortly into his appearance on the show, Keighley asked Greenberg about the pricing which he described as “double the price of an Xbox One S.”

“What’s your message to the Xbox community?” he asked.

“We’re proud of the pricing,” Greenberg said. “The fact is we designed this to be a premium product that has the most power, the most performance that has ever been seen, no compromises; true 4K gaming.

“Look at something like Forza that is delivering that native 4K, 60 frames per second. That takes an incredibly powerful GPU. That takes a lot of memory. That takes really unique design. So we designed it with no compromises. We did not build this to be a low price box. We built this to be a premium product for people that want the very, very best console games they’ve ever seen.”

The Xbox One X hits Nov. 7 for $499 and will include support for enhanced visuals such as 4K and HDR video. Microsoft said that 35 existing games will receive a free upgrade to take advantage of the new tech, with more to come.

I wonder how proud will they be of the price once Sony does a perm price cut to the Pro.

$499 should include two games and a controller.

Xbox One X pre-order pages already live
Pre-orders not being taken yet, though

The Xbox One X is not yet on sale. Microsoft has given a launch date — Nov. 7 — but pre-orders are not yet being accepted. When they are, supplies are probably going to be scarce.

Following are the pre-order sites for the major retailers in the United States. Some feature email sign-ups where you can be notified by the retailer when the pre-orders are live.

One point to make: According to the fine print on Microsoft's site, the Xbox One X is not yet approved for sale by the FCC. This probably explains why we have a price and a launch date but no pre-orders. (This also is not unusual; the first PlayStation 4 was announced in February 2013 and approved by the FCC the following July.)

Anyway, here are the official product listing pages at some of the biggest retailers:

Check back here when pre-orders are announced.

i havent beat last of us and i need to do that before the second one comes out.

Same here... I bought the remastered edition and then i got sidetracked and never came back to it. Hell I still need to beat the Killzone title that they released at PS4 launch.

It think the problem with the PS4 was when it launched... the original interface sucked donkey balls. The lack of multi-task ability and drop in play... kept it from being my go to. Xbox one was designed for the busy worker dude. The fact that I could play 30 minutes of a first person shooter... cut the system off... and come back to the same spot when I cut the system back on was huge.

Also the ability to watch Netflix and switch to a game without missing a beat...

PlayStation has those abilities now... but I think it's too late to sway me.

you make great points about the playstation os. i never cared for their os design on ps3 or ps4 so i barely played them compared to my xbox. my ps3 was mostly used to play blu-rays until i bought a standalone player. there's still exclusives on ps3 i didnt get or beat like heavenly sword. i played that demo so much i didnt get the game. i still want it though. even though playstation will always be my 2nd choice system i will always get one cuz i like to cover all my basis cuz they do have some great franchises. thats the only area i feel microsoft could do better in. other than that i dont care for the slight boost in graphic fidelity on ps when i prefer xbox controller. i thought about buying this adapter that allows you to use the xbox controller on your playstation or vice versa.

I mean to be honest... what were you really expecting. They don't have that many studios and they own the PC market. Unlike Sony, Xbox has always been basically a side project for them. They know they are going to get the cross platform games. The Microsoft of today is all about giving you a PC for your TV and then linking the two systems... so people can buy Windows products and Xbox one products. Thats actually a smart buisness plan. That's why they have play anywhere now... you can play all their games on PC and Xbox.

I do wish they brought out more firepower... but I like what they did with the show... no filler bullshit... nothing but games.

I also think people need to remember that E3 has changed because more and more companies are using Gamecoms to show their product because it gives them more time to work on Demos.

Like I bet Crackdown gameplay will be at Gamescom because they can hype up the system and give them more time.

This...

I think Microsoft has conceded the franchise domination and I think some of that might be the inability to get a foothold in Japan... if you really think about it. A everything changed when they got burned by blue Dragon on the Xbox 360 in Japan. Since then the amount of franchises dropped to their clear high selling games and they went more to timed exclusives. The only real mistake that I think they made was getting rid of Bioware. I can see Bungie.. 343 is doing ok but Bioware gave Microsoft street cred.

They never owned Bioware, they were a 2nd party developer. They should have bought them.

For those wondering... Hyper Dragonball Z is the fan made game that I posted a couple years ago. The game is actually really really good. It's completely free to download.
