I don't ever remember Dwight Howard preaching how others should live their lifestyle. He did say he was religious, and he did say he would help introduce God to some players. However, nothing he has said or done has truly deviated from his beliefs, except for the premarital sex thing.
However, in this day and age, things are just different. Also, he was 18 when he was coming into the league when he said it, and hasn't really said anything since then. It could be more of his parents talking through him than him saying these things. He's 22 now, and it really doesn't make him less of a Christian that he has a child. He never preached or judged anyone. He's not outlandish and whoring about, and seems to be a decent person, who's still growing.
It takes an incredible amount of willpower to adhere to the stricter Christian beliefs - the best part about the whole thing is that God KNOWS this, hence why it is not difficult to repent for anything you do - as long as you are sincere.
Only Christian fundamentalists are extremely strict, but they're also a racist hypocritical bunch to begin with.
