Warriors star Kevin Durant will miss at least four weeks after Golden State diagnosed him with a Grade 2 sprained MCL and a bone bruise on his left leg, the team announced Wednesday.

The Warriors announced that Durant is out indefinitely and would be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Golden State said Durant could play again in the regular season. The Warriors' final regular-season game is scheduled for six weeks from Wednesday's announcement.

Durant suffered the injury in the first quarter of Tuesday night's 112-108 loss to the Washington Wizards. The injury occurred during a loose-ball situation in which Wizards center Marcin Gortat fouled Warriors center Zaza Pachulia, who then fell backward into Durant's leg. Durant jumped away from Pachulia's contact, hopping while holding his left leg.

He proceeded to play the next two possessions before asking Warriors coach Steve Kerr to call timeout with 10:26 remaining in the quarter. After meeting with trainers, Durant, who was grimacing and holding his left leg, headed to the locker room and did not return.

Wednesday's injury news could challenge the Warriors (50-10) in their effort to clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs for the third straight season. They lead the San Antonio Spurs (45-13) by four games for the West's top spot.

In the wake of Durant's injury, the Warriors agreed to a deal with veteran swingman Matt Barnes, he confirmed to ESPN. The Sacramento Kings waived Barnes on Feb. 20 because they needed a roster spot to accommodate the players they received in their DeMarcus Cousins trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.

The fragilness of today's athletes is getting annoying.

I have to give props to Lebron for not getting injured significantly in his career.

I'll probably have to explain my opinion later.

Exactly why I liked HB

There's no back filling for KD...

Hope he can get it on track, Dubs gave up way too much to ever get injured.

I'm anti-Lebron. What do you think?

I think you mad......yea you mad

recovery can be anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months... so maybe the evaluation comes back good.... who you think favored out the west if kd out?

You want me to be mad ...

.... I want him to lose. I still give him his props for being one of the G.O.A.T.S. . .

. . . I'm just not a fan of his game, or how he put his teams together.

How many teams have you put together? How does your team put teams together?

You gotta understand outside of Ohio State this state don't win SHIT!!!

He put the state of Ohio on his back and beat the greatest regular season team of all time along with the first ever unanimous MVP.

Worry about yo own team nigga this thread suppose to be about KD if you can't beat em join em and get hurt ass

Don't jinx Bron bruh he at that age where them injuries come in bunches.. if he goes down it's a wrap for the cavs.. them niggas haven't won a game when he doesn't play

I don't like his game, nor how he put his teams together.

It gives off the impression that you're a great winner when you go to six straight Finals, when in fact, if any G.O.A.T level player had gotten together, in a weak conference, and two other former no. 1 options/All-Stars, they'd make a run at championships all the time.

He's great, but he's overrated for that reason, and a few others I can name.

As I've said before, there is no player in the post-MJ era who has a legit claim at top 5 status. The game is watered down, and has been since the early late-90s - it has only gotten worse - and no one has been dominant enough to justify it.

I can give Lebron top 10. I'll even accept him being ahead of my favorite player Kobe all time. Not that I totally agree, but I can accept it. He just ain't in my top 5, and damn sure won't be my GOAT.

Ok nigga first I don't care how "weak" a conference is going to six straight finals is not easy in the NBA. Sure the association is soft as a cupcake now and pretty much WWF but LeBron is one of the few players who could play in any NBA Era and be productive.

Again tell me how you come to the conclusion that LeBron is overrated when he came back from a 3 game deficit against.the greatest regular season team of all time AND the first ever unanimous MVP......along with another MVP candidate in Klay????

And what I put in bold. Your favorite player is a snitching ass nigga that ran his a Shaq Prime outta LA??? You like how Kobe built teams??? You like Kobe's game of putting up 80 shots a fucking game?????

The physical recovery is only half of the issue for KD. The mental recovery is different for every athlete.... some never recover.

Trying to recover in the playoffs makes it even harder, that pressure affects everything

The Cavs got a freebie last year with Draymond getting suspended, then Bogut going down. They were down 3-1, and all of those occurrences helped them.

No excuse. They still had the first ever unanimous MVP and Draymond was only suspended one game......it's a best of 7 series

Damn! and i had almost gotten to the point of predicting they would take the chip back from the cavs this year
