Drayonis warned us more than a decade ago

I have not been on a roller coaster in years but if I am:

Watch that shit fullscreen in your living room especially the first 8 minutes.

minus whale say watch the whole vid lol
but nopes this not for me anymore  :smh:

Aye man this ride is intense
Here is a vid that shows the riders on the ride, not just a POV (tons of those vids)

You can see at a few different spots where there could be some issues. For a 48 second ride, I wouldn't think it'd be this "dangerous." Vid was from March 2026, so shortly before the recent injuries and closure.

This is a breakdown video from 2015,
Talks about the current state of the ride and how initially it was called X, but the ride was closed for a about a year to be redesigned.

just read some of the comments

This shit looks like death trap from a Final Destination film.

I've been on x2 at magic mountain and the one they use to have in st Louis

it's the only rollercoaster that made my head hurt after i got off of it..

did he unbuckle himself?

the latch failed?

Apparently there was just the lap bar and not a traditional seat bealt or racer style safety harness.

Edit: it does have a safety harness, some of the older variations of the ride have a traditional lap belt.

Hyper Coasters designed by the same group that designed Goliath have been closed across the network of Six Flags parks

My issues is.....

From most of the recent news videos on the web, they show people walking down from the initial incline. So theres video of them evacuating people off of the ride that already started. Which I guess is better than the alternative. But it made it seem like they were evacuated mid ride, which is not the case.

Witnesses claim to have seen the "train" return to the station with almost all passengers and the open seat.

And the alleged "souvenir" photo would support that the train was in motion.

I've been looking at park maps and trying to look through pov ride videos to identify where the latch failed/ejection occurred and try to make sense of this.....

R.I.P. to that black man and condolences to his family. A day at the park, especially a big name reputable park, should never end like this.

what i'm gathering is that he was a big dude and the lap bar never locked in place properly

same thing happened to the kid that died in Orlando 4 or 5 years ago on that free fall drop ride..

But they (are supposed to) check those bars twice. AND according to witnesses there was a safety harness.

Yes big people pose a greater risk on rides, but "if you can sit, (typically) you can fit" into the restraints. At the very least, how did he slip out of the safety harness?
