(CNN) Talk radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger has issued an apology for saying the N-word several times during an on-air conversation with a caller this week.

"I talk every day about doing the right thing. And yesterday, I did the wrong thing," Schlessinger said on her radio show Wednesday.

"I was attempting to make a philosophical point, and I articulated the N -word all the way out -- more than one time. And that was wrong. I'll say it again -- that was wrong."

Schlessinger was referring to a call she got on her show Tuesday from an African-American woman who said she was married to a white man and was getting fed up with her husband allowing his family and friends to say things that she felt were racist.

Schlessinger asked the woman to give her some examples and then said that she thought the examples the woman gave were not racist.

The woman then asked about the use of the N-word.

Schlessinger said "black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic, and all you hear is n---, n----, n----."

CO FUCKING SIGN MAN. I always say that. Hanging out with other races is perfectly fine, nothing is wrong with everybody getting along. But when it comes to actually being in a relationship with someone nobody can empathize with you like another African American person can. And I feel that is true for any race, black, white, asian, latin, etc... At the end of the day only another person of your same race can truly say they walked in your shoes. I can't come home to a white or asian woman (for example) and be like "Damn baby, it was rough for me out there today. i think this movie is racist

i'm probably the last person to point out that something is racist but this movie makes it obvious.

these are the only white people in the whole movie:

1. waitress in the beginning, (M. Lawrence said she was racist, made her look like a jackass)
2. salesman at clothing store, (again made him a racist and made him look like a complete *beep*
3. 4 brute guys carrying grace jones in her premier. these guys were chained and treated like reindeer.

those were the only white people in the movie. to me, it seemed the makers of the movie went out of their way to send a message.

loved the movie, hilarious. love eddie, love martin, love david alan grier, but i think this movie is racist.

I didn't realize how sick alot of them were with entitlement until I got to highschool. I remember when I watched DBZ and there were hardly any black characters. So me and my friend made our own little comic with just black characters, and pretty much all the white people who read it called us racist. This. I was talking about this with my friend the other day. I don't care how cool a white dude is, you will NEVER catch me dating anyone but a black man.
