AHA so you finally admit that 35k is low income :hmm:

lol not just low income, but your only means of housing would be a crime infested project... here is a crime summary of the area he mentions:

Many social problems associated with poverty from crime to drug addiction have plagued the area for some time. Despite crime declines versus their peaks during the crack and heroin epidemics violent crime continues to be a serious problem in the community. [3] Parkchester has significantly higher drop out rates and incidents of violence in its schools.[4] Students must pass through metal detectors and swipe ID cards to enter the buildings. Reminisce a prison environment which many feel encourages bad behavior. Other problems in local schools include low test scores and high truancy rates. Drug addiction is also a serious problem in the community. Due to the lucrative drug trade in the area many addicted reside in the community. Peer pressure among children who come from broken homes contributes to the high rate of usage. Many households in the area are headed by a single mother which contributes to the high poverty rate.[5] Many of whom had their children at a very young age and unfortunately could not provide for their children. Many of the families living in Parkchester have been in poverty for generations. The incarceration rate in the area is also very high.[6] Many if not most males in the community have been arrested at some point in their lives. This has a direct correlation to aggressive policing tactics including "sweeps" due to the area's high crime rate. Parkchester is home to a significant number of inmates currently held in New York state prison and jail facilities.

What is funny is the niggas in here that is making the most claims that 35 to 40k and single you can't get by in NYC are the same niggas who don't even live here yet commenting like they know whats going on. Thats like me talkin shit about DC and I don't even live there.

Take 35k in NYC

That is rougly 1250 to 1300 every two weeks after taxes, combined 2500 to 2600 per month

You don't have a vehicle so that is out of the way.

Rent in he most basic shit hole spot in Bushwick about 900

Metrocard, weekly bout $24

Cable basic 100

Cellphone 65

Food per week 50

HOmephone 50

going out 150

How much is that total? bout 1350? 2300-1350 = 950 left over? Now this is an estimate and you can take that 950 and use it up for whatever like shopping and other bullshit of that nature now tell me giving the circumstances that is not decent?

:lol::dance:

These exceptions are not the rule.......

You yourself said in that above statement, low income........ not middle class income.

No wonder racial profiling exists.......

:smh::smh::smh:

lol not just low income, but your only means of housing would be a crime infested project... here is a crime summary of the area he mentions:

Man you are of supreme stupidity if you would even step foot in NYC you would know that the city had hud subsidized housing for city residents who make bet 30k -70k per yr

They are eligble for apts and homes are a cheap rate.

Here is a link to the city website that states just that and the areas in what you claim CRIME infested neighborhoods.

You guys are all over the place. Focus for a sec please. We are talking about income brackets that are considered low income in NYC yet people dub it middle class or better the working poor if you want to get technical. I am not disputing that fact my argument is that A SINGLE PERSON MAKING 35K A YR CAN GET BY IN NYC ON THAT INCOME.

What is it that you ninjas are not getting?

Don't worry about profiling just make sure that cracka don't light your ass up.

 Yo Beatdown...these cats are not even reading they are just blindly responding bro...can't believe you still at it...

no, you two are just out of touch with reality, so 35k after taxes = $2600/month?

35k a year is $2900 monthly gross! thats not counting fed, state, ss, or anything else... so do you want to try again?

so at 35k you cant afford a car or insurance, and you live in the "most basic shit hole"... oh and by your numbers, you dont pay taxes? no health insurance?

:hmm:

Why in the blue fuck would you need a car living in NYC with a transit system that operates 24hrs a day 7 days week? Man please for the love of god shut the fuck up. If you don't know shit about NYC keep the fuck quit.

And to add my numbers was AFTER TAXES read you dumb fuck READ. As far as insurance is concerned depending of your job usually if you work for the city you get FULL COVERAGE HEALTH INSURANCE that a small amount is deducted for your paycheck usually no more that 15 to 25 bucks.

You my friend are a fuckin idiot

Good to see you are agreeing with me.

Your other argument, you could carry on with, i'm not interested in whether 35K is a good salary in NYC.

I'm also not familiar with that phrase "light that ass up", is it a bajan phrase???

You were worrying about profiling bitch.

I am glad you are not interested in whether 35k is good in NYC but the point was made to bi fag who claims that you can't function on it in NYC by her tales of taking cabs everyday and doing dumb shit.

This argument ain't have shit to do with what you was talking about. Fuck out of here clown

For real. When I was at the airline I topped out at $1200-$1400 per pay period ($41,236 per year avg. $2400 per month)after taxes and with overtime!!!!!!!!!! Those number are off significantly. Damn I miss those days. I haven't seen another check like that since 2004.:(

this thread needs to go in BGOL archives! These niggas from Yonkers are Bonkers!

Yeah for obviously dumb fucks like you who never stepped foot in this city believing hood stories bi-fag tells you.

The idea behind this is simple. The dollar is all set to be replaced by the Amero which will be the currency used by Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. In order to get rid of the dollar, it has to be devalued to the point of being worthless. Then, a reasonable argument can be made to replace the dollar. The Amero has already been minted and is sitting in the the treasury bank vault in Denver . The gov't has been slowly devaluating the dollar for the past 25 years. This is why the gov't isn't really doing anything to solve the mortgage crisis and other problems. And if you really research, you'll find that every country that has invested in dollars is getting rid of them as fast as possible i.e. China. They know whats up. Get rid of liquid assets and invest in real estate before 2011.

so when will they make the switch?
As I researched and read, the switch will be complete by the year 2011. We're in phase one currently. Phase two will be the crash of our banking system i.e. mortgage banks, FDIC insured banks etc. Look for mortgage companies to start going under in the next two years. Some have already quietly folded.

for real these niggas is jokers.

i guess the key word is living comfortable and these niggas is used to scumbag shit... i know scumbag shit and it aint cool........

35k -100k aint shit in nyc...

:roflmao:
I would never believe this was real if I wasn't witnessing it.
:smh:

I said that (we are being setup for the Amero) to a friend the other day and she said "Americans have too much pride for that." I remember a Canadian saying the same thing but that doesn't mean it won't happen. An entire country's pride is nothing to the fewer puppeteers who want to make it happen. Ever see the movie 1984?

35k single, no kids and living on your own? not saying its rich living but you ain't struggling that is for damn sure also depends how you manage the finances

monthly expenses

rent - 1,000
food + store items (from detergent to ketchup to apples)- 300
personal (condoms, candles, whatever) -50
metrocard - 96
utilities - 130
cable - 30
cell - 100 -unlimited everything
internet - 60
drinks, happy hour, lounges (90 per week)- 360
dinner on the town (twice a month) - 240
movies for two once a month- 30
daily lunch - 100 (carry lunch to work subtract 100 but add 5 for juice, snacks etc)
gym -50
laundry - 40
dry cleaning - 40+

total expenses for the month = $2626
35,000 bi weekly is $1346. 35,000 monthly becomes $2692 per month.

this leaves you no money for clothes, emergency cab fare, emergency cash, cash to spare on the ladies, entertainment cash, money to upgrade your pc, money to go out of town, money to rent a car, strip club money.
this also leaves you no cash to upgrade the house when someone special is coming over (new sheets, new comforter)
this also leaves no money for quarterly carpet cleaning.
or whatever other natural expenses one might need.

even after taxes, 35,000 leaves you with shit. and some of those expenses were BARE MINIMUM especially rent, utilities and personal expenses. 35,000 for a single person in NYC is SURVIVAL of the fittest basically. it is not living comfortably

be my guest. feel free to alter the above as YOU see fit and redo the math as YOU see fit

this goes for anyone who feels the need to correct it, not pointing anyone out particularly

I lived in Lubeck, Germany in 2006. The Euro was $1.32 then. A $.20 increase alongside the highest gas prices since the early eighties.

Thanks G Dub!!!
