My son just did a presentation a couple years ago during black history month using my naval officer grandfather who fought in WWII.
My mom loved it and brought it to a family reunion that summer. It is stored in her house.

I got an aunt and all of her kids ain't shit,even down to the great grandkids....it's a saying in my family anytime you mention one of them it's followed by "They ain't shiiiit"

And the vast majority of the time it is the parents fault. A lot of these kids are born into a situation that they don’t even stand a chance.

You have to admit that is rare, though.
For most, it isn't about intentionally choosing to honor or not.
Most of us are just forgotten once our direct descendants pass.

The point is that you likely will be as relevant to your great grandchildren as your great grandparents are to you.

Did my great grandparents want to leave a legacy or where they to busy trying to not to get lynched? My great grandparents didn't have the luxury of building legacy. BUT, I am here so technically my great grandparents DID build a legacy as the bloodline contiuned. They were able to survive, thrive, instill values and beliefs that have been passed down. So they are pretty fcuking relevant! Shout out to Lother Leigh!!!
My kids knew their great grandmother very well. She passed when my youngest was 5 but they spent a good bit of time with her. My oldest spent the most time with her. Stayed the night at her house multiple times even when he was in high school. My middle son was 8 when she passed, he spent plenty of time with her, and was very sad when she passed...anyways I couldn't give a fuck less about legacy, because this world is terrible. I'm all for my kids not having kids.
