Thanks for the responses. I’ll reiterate that I don’t think Trump is a good president. I am of the opinion that all the presidents were racist (Except Obama). I have yet to see where Trump specifically stands out as far as racism. I don’t put much stock in words so his comments don’t bother me as much as Bill Clinton’s crime bill which directly effected most in here if you are black and from the inner city.

I have hated all presidents..especially once they were examined closely after their terms ended.
But no one has really answered OP's question with any thoughts beyond the easy answers.
I will give my piece.....
Black Americans see the institution of "America" as something that is sacred. We represent the definition of "America" in that we feel that there is a chance to come from nothing and become something with hard work. No other groups truly believes that mantra like us. Other groups will say the same but will covertly ignore the perks and advantages that are received by their people.
We are the only group in the US that has to truly accomplish shit with damn near no assistance or hand up....and we do that with more obstacles in our way than any other group by far.
With this understanding of our experience, we have learned to cherish the trait of dignity more than anything. That is really the definition of blackness in America. Being dignified above all else. This is applicable for us whether we are poor or rich.
You will never see a poor pink person described as "dignified".
This is the true reason why black people despise Trump. As a collective we care about how much dignity is in the white house. WIth Trump there, there is a huge deficit in dignity.
In closing....we care about how America looks while others care about what they can get from America. This is also our biggest fault.
