marathoned this series on the low the last few months...season 2 was my favorite...and yes @playahaitian the ending for season 3 was a shitty copout :cool: show was ok...the reason why I wasn’t interested in watching this series when it originally aired is I felt what worked for fargo the movie wouldn’t really translate as well into a weekly series...a lot of the coincidences in season 1 just felt forced...after a while it was like how much random shit can happen...funny and clever for a 2 hour movie...a little overbearing imo for a 10 episode series...season 2 was cool cuz the crime family angle justified a lot of the off the wall shit that happened...season 3 was cool too...that ending was really disappointing tho...now lemme see if @Helico-pterFunk posted a gif/pic of the blonde chic from season 2 laying naked in the bed lol

Agreed. Season 2 was solid throughout.

They've done a good job with their cast selections for each season. Good amount of talent ... and they've done justice to the movie ... especially considering it was translated to the small screen some 20 years later, which could have been really hit or miss.

I want my brother to watch more of the series. He caught a few episodes of season 1 ... they film the show in Calgary, and he goes there a few times annually to visit friends as he's a few hours away. Want to see if he recognizes any of the shooting locations.

Lol

I liked her character tho she killed it......

Was this the last season tho???

Believe the 4th season isn't guaranteed at this time. No concrete word in recent months. Been trying to get my brother into the series. He lives a few hours away by car from Calgary (where they film) and visits friends there every month or two. Should get him to check out if he recognizes any of the shooting locations or districts.

Noah Hawley (the showrunner) mentioned he wouldnt come back unless he is inspired.
so the show is on hiatus

he still down with FX so he is doing Legion and also working on movies; so i wouldnt hold my breath on another season of Fargo in the near future

Like a door that may or may not open, the prospect of Fargo’s fourth season has been an open mystery for over a year, its existence dependent on creator Noah Hawley’s increasingly crowded schedule, the remaining stock of philosophical Midwestern morality plays, and the approval of the FX brass. With Hawley between seasons of Legion and bandying about cryptic details about a season-four period piece, the final Fargo puzzle piece fell into place this morning, when FX boss John Landgraf announced the show’s renewal, the fourth installment’s premise, and its star: Chris Rock.

“I’m a fan of Fargo and I can’t wait to work with Noah,” Rock said in a statement released during the Television Critics Association summer press tour. Specifically, he can’t wait to head up one of two warring Kansas City crime families—one black, the other Italian—in 1950. As you may remember, the Kansas City Mafia played a major role in the show’s second and best season, the primary antagonists to the Gerhardt family and employers of Fargo all-star Mike Milligan. Here, the underworld that mafia runs will be thrown into disarray when their leader unexpectedly dies during a routine surgery, complicating a peace previously brokered in an exchange of eldest sons, which leaves Rock’s character raising his enemy’s kid as his own. This will surely involve a lot of elongated vowel sounds as well.

Fargo is set to return to FX in 2019.

What to Expect from Fargo Season 4

When will FX’s Fargo season 4 release and what will the story be about this time? Inspired by the Coen brothers' 1996 movie Fargo, the black comedy Fargo TV series features different stories and characters for each installment, and Fargo season 4 isn't going to change that.

Created by Noah Hawley, FX's Fargo premiered in 2014 with Billy Bob Thornton as the original lead. Fargo season 1 was nominated for six Emmys, but both Fargo season 2 and Fargo season 3 were highly acclaimed and received numerous Emmy nominations themselves.

Each of Fargo’s three seasons have been pop culture events, and the FX show is widely regarded as one of the best TV dramas. So, it's understandable that FX would want to continue with Fargo season 4.

Fargo Season 4 Release Date Info

A Fargo season 4 release date hasn't been set yet, but given that production on Fargo season 4 is expected to begin in late 2019, it should, therefore, premiere in spring 2020. The delay in Fargo season 4 is primarily due to Noah Hawley's schedule. In addition to writing and producing Fargo season 4, Hawley is currently busy wrapping up the final season of Legion as well as finishing his second movie, Lucy in the Sky.

Last year, Hawley indicated that Fargo season 4 wouldn't premiere in 2019, and that certainly seems to be the case. Both Fargo season 1 and Fargo season 3 premiered in April and followed roughly the same production schedule, so it’s likely that Fargo season 4 will also premiere in April.

Fargo Season 4 Story Details

Fargo season 4 is significant because the setting moves from to Kansas City, Missouri, for the first time. The Fargo season 4 story is going back even further than before as well, as it'll be set in the 1950s and explore the relationship between Kansas City gangsters and a black crime syndicate. Interestingly, Fargo season 2 featured members from a Kansas City crime family - namely Bokeem Woodbine's Mike Milligan and Brad Garrett's Joe Bulo - who were sent to deal with the Gerhardt family. Perhaps Fargo season 4 will tie those connections more closely together, or at least explore the history of those connections. Here's the official synopsis for Fargo season 4:

In 1950, at the end of two great American migrations — that of Southern Europeans from countries like Italy, who came to the US at the turn of the last century and settled in northern cities like New York, Chicago — and African Americans who left the south in great numbers to escape Jim Crow and moved to those same cities — you saw a collision of outsiders, all fighting for a piece of the American dream. In Kansas City, Missouri, two criminal syndicates have struck an uneasy peace. One Italian, one African American. Together they control an alternate economy — that of exploitation, graft and drugs. This too is the history of America. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons.

Fargo Season 4 Cast

FX is still in the early stages of developing Fargo season 4, which means it'll be a while before a full cast list is revealed. At the moment, the Fargo season 4 cast consists only of Chris Rock, who will portray the head of the black crime syndicate that flees the Jim Crow South and finds more trouble in Kansas City.

FX has postponed Fargo season 4 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The long-awaited new season starring Chris Rock will no longer premiere on Sunday, April 19.
Fargo has been filming in Chicago for several months, but some episodes were still left to complete when its production shut down last week.
The shutdown means if FX premiered Fargo as originally planned, there's a very probable chance that not all the episodes would air consecutively. Rather than risk having to air part of the season this spring and then the rest, well, sometime later, FX has decided to delay the show.
Given the lag time between production and air, the shutdown of scripted programming could start impacting broadcast network schedules in about six weeks. Unscripted shows, such as late-night talk shows, have gone on hiatus. Also, several tentpole films originally planned for spring (No Time to Die, Mulan, A Quiet Place Part II, F9) have had their release dates pushed back.
