Dave Chappelle is setting up shop at Radio City Music Hall this summer.

On Monday, the comedian announced a 10-show residency at the Manhattan venue, featuring an array of special guests from the worlds of comedy and music.

The run begins on Aug. 1, when Mr. Chappelle will be joined by the Roots, the Philadelphia hip-hop group and “Tonight Show” house band, who will also perform with the comedian for the next three nights. (The combination will be familiar to longtime fans of Mr. Chappelle, whose 2005 documentary, “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party,” also featured the group; Erykah Badu, another of the film’s performers, is Mr. Chappelle’s guest at Radio City on Aug. 9.)

Other boldface names enlisted for the August run include: Chris Rock (Aug. 5); Trevor Noah, the host of “The Daily Show” (Aug. 18); Childish Gambino, the musical alter ego of the actor, director and writer Donald Glover (Aug. 19); and the comedian Ali Wong (Aug. 24). The Aug. 15 show teases only a “very special guest.” Tickets go on sale Friday at chappelleradiocity.com.

The shows come at an especially lively time for Mr. Chappelle, who largely avoided the spotlight for years after leaving behind his sketch comedy program, “Chappelle’s Show,” in 2005. In March, he released two stand-up specials (“Deep in the Heart of Texas” and “The Age of Spin”) on Netflix, with a third planned for release on the platform this year. A previous 10-show run at Radio City helped to kick-start Mr. Chappelle’s mainstream comeback in 2014.

“I could quit my show, and that’s one kind of difficulty,” he told The New York Times earlier this year. “But quitting doing stand-up would be another.”

Wow, no replies after 20 minutes

Lots of people still suspicious of investing time and money in him cuz of the Chappell show cancellation.

You go buy tickets for this and out of the blue on the premiere date, he goes on another "breakdown' and disappears.

He didn't want to take the white man's money to sell out creative control so they tried to ruin him by saying that he had a break down. Basically tried to white ball him. Definitely gonna try to make this

He stated in interviews that he had a breakdown and went to Africa to clear his head.

He did a interview on Howard Stern and said when he was shooting a skit for the show, a white worker behind the camera was laughing. Dave took it that the white worker was laughing at him in a racial way, not laughing at the skit.Thats what kicked off the breakdown.

I didn't see anything about a mental break down. What I did see was he was forced to rethink his options and he was stressed. No different than a porn chick having a moment of clarity during an anal scene. Guess the camera man opened his eyes to a bigger picture.
