And as you've stated you, much like a preschool age girl, are incapable of changing any belief taught to you as a child.

:lol::lol: Okay...

People may not be able to totally remove something taught and reinforced by culture like that overnight but it can be undone and you can consciously change your actions and beliefs even if there is some subconscious residue.

Maybe that was what this entire thread was about-- subconscious residue and how it is manifested. And not being conscious of what has influenced you just makes it manifested all the more strongly.

You were focused on me justifying my "behavior"-- I date girls of all races. If a Gabrielle Union wants to spend some time with me that would be fantastic but I know I skew more towards the Halle and Rhianna types or the Karyn Parsons or Cassies. Its not as if I'm Clarence Thomas or Quincy Jones with it.

A better study to cite would be the racial face picture study where people say who are the more trustworthy people etc.

Maybe so... but wouldn't it be to the same effect?

I've never thought Fantasia was a real supa ugly girl, I just never thought she took good pictures. A lot of pictures caught her in unflattering poses with some fucked expressions on her girl like she thizz faced the camera man. But just so we're clear, I'd fuck the dawg shit outta Fantasia's ass and her big ass mouth.

As far as her illiteracy. As I understand it, she could read but she just couldn't read many multi-syllabic words or no big words. Her publicist fucked her up on that leading the public to believe she was completely illiteratewhich wasn't true.

We all know how producers do in tv/media. American Idol milked the rags-to-riches storyline for what it was worth even though it was steeped in half-truths. Her illiteracy made it all the better. It was supposed to be a ploy to gain sympathy on some underdog love story type shit. They could've easily downplayed that shit but America loves to see a "blacks rise from the ghetto" story.

I'm not reading all this shit, but what does beauty have to do with the way people make fun of Fantasia's illiteracy?

It's no different from teasing a person and saying they need hooked on phonics (hookt on foneks werkt for me!),

or a dumb blonde (pretty or not),

or a retard who can't articulate their words properly,

or miss teen usa 2007 that couldn't answer that simple question, etc, etc.

What is the connection between being "dark" and the mispelling?

You'll have to do some reading to find out...

The only thing I see is you still trying to justify this thread, after you were given sufficient reasons why there is no connection between complexion and literacy.

Everybody knows why Fantasia is being teased, you're the only person to try and attach all those silly reasons.

There is also plenty examples of attractive, non black people being teased. I gave a few as well.

Bottom line, it's your own prejudice against Fantasia and dark-skinned people that shaped your initial thought. Otherwise, you wouldn't have jumped to conclusions.

You didn't read the part about the word "justify," did you? Because you damn sure don't understand the meaning and aren't able to apply it correctly.

^^^^^^

google reading and fantasia - she was illiterate and still won american idol bullshitting her way through it

darky should have read her bio

She was never actually "illiterate," though she definitely wasn't a speed reader. You're confusing her with R. Kelly, and a large chunk of the NBA and NFL.

I thought posting dictionary and thesaurus references to the use of the word justify and quoting your use of the word "excuse" would be good enough for you to understand your error Billy Slowhands.

Firstly-- and I thought I explained this in simple enough language for you, Makktasia-- your definition showed that justification is an effort "to declare or show to be free from blame or guilt" or to "prove or see to be just." Every explanation is not a justification. Acknowledging influences is not a justification. Admitting honest feelings for which you "feel a bit guilty" is not an effort to declare yourself free from blame or guilt. I think its fucked up how black women are viewed by so many in this country and I think its undeniable that the view is even harsher for darker women. Its not something I parade around-- like I said, I'm not Quincy Jones or Halo. I'm not justifying the inclination because I know what it is based in is not just or good...

Secondly, you spend too much time on the Internet, you "fucktard," you "troll." If I were Billy Slowhands, it would be known. You talked that same bullshit about me damn near half a decade ago now and dropped it, now you want to suddenly pick it up here? What the fuck did I do in this thread that could only be the work of Slowhands? This is stupid bullshit and I'm ignoring it from this point on unless you have something constructive to say.

This bitch belongs in a zoo.

What a difference a day makes...

While I do believe you don't yet have enough life experience to fully grasp what Amajorfucup is talking about, I'm not going to marginalize your experience. I'm not going to put it on the level of what went down in the 50s and 60s either. One thing I've noticed that Amajorfucup is missing is that racism has mutated in to something more subversive and more damaging. I posted an article a few minutes ago reminding him AND YOU that things haven't changed in this country.

Okay, THIS is some funny and ironic shit...

I look at the front page and see "JD Walker: You simps need to get with the program: Americans still linking Blacks to apes.http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=440011"

And I immediately think back to last night...

"JD Walker: Colin Powell will be the end of you." (Source of the above Fantasia "belongs in a zoo" post.)

...

I needed no reminder from you on this subject.

This seems even more closely connected...

The research took place over six years at Stanford and Penn State under Eberhardt's supervision. It involved mostly white male undergraduates. In a series of studies that subliminally flashed black or white male faces on a screen for a fraction of a second to "prime" the students, researchers found subjects could identify blurry ape drawings much faster after they were primed with black faces than with white faces. The researchers consistently discovered a black-ape association even if the young adults said they knew nothing about its historical connotations. The connection was made only with African American faces; the paper's third study failed to find an ape association with other non-white groups, such as Asians. Despite such race-specific findings, the researchers stressed that dehumanization and animal imagery have been used for centuries to justify violence against many oppressed groups.

So to be clear, you saying Patrick Chewing doesnt look like a monkey (an orangutan to be specific) in that picture?

Just asking.

These are the first two pictures that come up when you google "orangutan":

I really don't see a resemblance.

When I read the question, I scrolled back up and the first feature I focused on was his nose and his wide nostrils and I thought "Maybe..." probably identifying that with how a gorilla looks.

But that's not what I think when I look at the picture unprompted... I hate even typing it out. I don't look at him and think that he looks like an ape.
