Don't be ridiculous. As crazy insane as Vulcan is I bet he could give Mags a run for his money. Magnetism is a form of energy and Vulcan is an energy manipulator. Adam Warlock isn't cruel or devious enough but with his mage abilities he could do damage, turning any metallic object hurled at him into rubber or such. Truth to tell I only just now saw Adam use his magical abilities the way he did. Vulcan still put a hurtin on that ass! But I tell you...ain't no way Mags could stand up to Black Bolt. A whisper and it's one and done

As I last read Mags has the powers of every mutant that lost their powers from House of M. Plus, I don't think Mags would come out just out in the open. I think he would pull strings and probably reuse The Hellfire clubs and Acolytes in a more subtle manner. I forgot where I read it but Matt Fraction stated that "The Collective" and Magneto are not done and to stay tune to Dark Reign for more.

Ahh see you're up on the happenings in the Mutant World. I stopped reading the X-books long time back. OK let's see how this plays out. Dark Avengers/X-Men is coming out later this month. I bet that's where we'll catch a clue what Mags involvement will be.

Wow! Fantastic read. Wasn't sure where this book fit in with Dark Reign. Didn't really care for AOA at first but this chapter totally blew me away. Damn talking gorilla has a heluva sense of humor! This book reveals alot and changes stuff on a couple of levels. Definitely worth the read and it should be bought and saved as a collector's item.

For the most part - I just wiki and speak to other comic heads when I stop by for my weekly pick up at the local shop.

I left Marvel ever since they put a talking ape superhero/villain from Agents of Atlas into the mainstream U. I just can't eat that.

TWD is the only consistent book I am collecting now but I have always loved the Magento/Prof. X storyline (Malcolm/Doc. King)

[might avengers 25] I am anxious to see how the battle of the two genius, Hank Pym and Reed Richards, plays out. That was hilarious how Reed dissed Hank Pym and made him say, "It's on now bitch." lmao.

[new avengers the reunion 4 of 4] Song Bird and Ronin make a perfect tactical fighting duo. Osborn better watch his back.

[Dark Avengers 5] Osborn is one hellava persuader when put in the spot light. The second chance speech was too clever. But from the read and the pics of each dark avenger, I am guessing the team is about to fold in on itself with black mail, personal problems, and vendettas.

Thanks so much for these comics.

Maaaan...that's the best way to speculate on the haps...there used to be this comic shop on Bleeker St btn Sullivan & McDougal in NYC. Used to get there on 0 Day before they put the new books on the shelves. We'd talk for hours. I gained so much knowledge about the industry, head ups on new titles coming out, comparing comic characters in their books to their TV shows, etc. A few times writers, pencilers would drop by and chat. Stan came by briefly one Wednesday morning. Only a couple people were there. He'd come to pick up a title and chat with the owner. I was thumbing through the DC section (hated DC but still tried to keep up with a few faves like JLA, Supes, The Bat) when I caught him out the side of my eye. He was about 15 feet from me browsing the Indie section but I didn't see what he picked up. I recognized him right away but I gave him his space. He caught me spying, nodded and smiled then went to the front.

Right after Claremont started with X-Men I got deep into the X-Books. Byrne was doing the FF a.t.t and Miller was thigh deep into DD. The Avengers, The Spider titles, Dr Strange, Thor were a few of my other faves. About seven years later I gave up all comics. Thanks to Punisher. Punisher helped to usher in the New Age, leaving what was left of the (mostly) innocence of the Silver Age behind. Punisher was blood, guts, senseless violence. Was cool when I first picked him up. Then they amped it up and I saw that style of writing begin creeping into the other books I loved. It was in Punisher that blood went from dark splotches to red. Before Punisher they never showed characters bleeding on the covers. Then Wolverine started going hog f%$#@&g wild. Then prices went through the roof. Had to put em down. For the next 14 years only series I read was the Death Of Superman. I started back reading again but to this very day I won't touch a Punisher book. :smh:

Seems you're a knowledgeable Cat on comics. Looking forward to future chats

Peace

I actually started a comic stand back in the day on Fordham road when I was young. Made great money during that time - We talking start of Image to the fall of Valiant - Then I went to college.

The comic spot I hit now has a guy that make and sell custom costumes for males and females. So when I go to pick up there are different types of ppl.

It's funny what you learn from these ppl. In fact, at this same spot there is this woman that picks up her books faithfully even when the writing was bad. Anyway, the owner was like "Which was the best X-Men group of all time?" since he is an older cat he is stuck on 63. The others stated different eras. Then me and this chick was like "Outback X-Men" in unison. It was funny. Started talking to her...turned out she was a lawyer.

Man, the info/advise she gave me saved me so much time and money. To this day we have chats on this and that. Very refreshing.

What do you think Hope is going to turn out to be? I hope they don't do that Jean Grey shit again.

Also, How do you think the "Black Star" is going to go down? (Return of Cap Promo?)

Your own comic stand?! Is that better than having your own lemonade stand? Man that musta been cool. Raking in the dough while getting high on your own supply :D Fantablulous  Hey you gonna marry that attorney? She sounds like a great catch. But you got me on Hope and Black Star. One sounds like an X-Men SL (storyline to you non abreviators -- lol) and Cap I haven't been following except in Mighty Avengers, which, BTW, has started getting interesting. Check out the exchange from MA #25:

I read issue one - It was given to me but I did not bother with the rest.

Man, I loved my comic stand. I was too young though to be in the streets - Most ppl thought I was older though but I was 13 when I started that. Family needed money and I was concerned about college savings. I had a few ppl watch out for me that at the time I did not know about from a old school African dude selling DVDs to a hotdog vendor.

Nah - I am already married :) My current wife is awesomess! Comic/Anime/Novel head - The lawyer chic is one of many allies that I have came across from my comic adventures! LOL

I think Hope is going to turn out to be some sort of Rachel Summers/Maddie Pryor thing.

I think Marvel is going to bring back Steve Rogers which I hope is not the case. Personally, I wish they would move on and let the flagships age and pass on the mantle permanently.

kb7oer.jpg

That is a funny scene.

If they did bring Cap back I hope he does not take up the mantel again. Bucky was a good choices and the only that the fan would allow to take cap's place. he could come back as the head of the new Sheild or what ever they are going to call it.

I really hope they leave Steve Rogers dead. It really wouldn't make sense as his death also represented the death/rebirth of an America (616 wise) a lot different from the ideals that he represented. I really can't see Steve having anything to do with this nation after what went down in Civil War. Bucky fits the mold much better in this time. If anything that promo pic could possibly represent one of the Black males that were used in experiments to perfect the Super Soldier serum.

I missed this post the first time. It's why I posted the catfight pic though att I didn't realize it. Great catch Tex. I see you're up on the current events going on with Dark Reign. Yeah that exchange in MA 25 was drop dead funny!

That battle btn Mocking Bird and the femme A.I.M. agent Monica Rappaccini was intense. What surprised me was Clint and her getting back together and him joining the WCA. I thought for sure they'd be going their separate ways.

Osborn is full of surprises. He's got a few tricks left up his sleeve. I like the way he handled the situation with the Gods, sparking up the intensity between Athena and Hera. I tell ya...that Herc title is freakin hilarious! Picked it up during Secret Invasion and been a fan since.

Normie better watch out for 'Bob.' If he figures out how Ozzie's manipulating him (and Ms Marvel aka Moonstone is sure doing her best to clue him in) he's gonna feel like a ham sammich left too long inside a microwave on high when Sentry finishes frying that tin suit

Great job on this thread. I just downloaded all of it. Thanks so much. Mad props
