INDIANAPOLIS -- The Patriots made their final transaction of the 2011 season on Saturday, releasing wide receiver Tiquan Underwood and promoting defensive lineman Alex Silvestro from the practice squad.

Underwood's release likely means that wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will be active for Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday.

For Silvestro, an undrafted rookie from Rutgers, it is his second stint on the Patriots' 53-man roster this season. He adds depth along the defensive line, although defensive tackle Kyle Love (ankle) was the only defensive lineman on Friday's final injury report. Silvestro's promotion means that he will likely be active for Super Bowl XLVI, and he could be part of a defensive line rotation in the game, which is the first indoor game since the preseason for the Patriots.

Doubt it,just sounds like he was expendable and they needed another defensive lineman..Must have an injury on the line they are keeping quiet and aren't sure if the player can go the whole game.
