I wonder if this is how Amber Guyger will get out......
I could see these corrupt bastards destroying data to get a bad cop out of trouble. The police system loves protect shit employees. If someone working at a burger joint had multiple complaints about food being over/under cooked, they'd be fired, but a bad cop gets to keep burning the burgers and it's everyone else's fault.

The First 48 Dallas just renamed to The First Whenever We Get to This Shit, We Will Get to it 'Cause We are Some Fuckin' Idiots that Don't Know How to Back Up Data Like Most 12 Year Old Kids Back Up Their Porn and Games. Remember, We Almost Let that Bitch Walk that Killed that Black Man in His Own House. We are Just Dumb.

I think this was done on purpose
Someone must have wanted something to disappear. The cost of enterprise class SSD data storage or back up is just a couple hundred dollars per TB. I've got ten TB of storage at home and it cost less than a grand.

:smh: :smh: :smh: Someone fucked up. This is what happens when you lie on your resume to get that job. :smh: :smh: :smh:

This is also what happens, when the person doing the hiring who is supposed to vet you lied on their resume and got the job. So now you have a new hire and their supervisor both on the job and neither of them knows what they're doing. I've seen that shit happen when dumbass execs circumvent middle management to fill an open position because it's taking to long to fill and they end up hiring a complete dipshit who wouldn't make it past a phone interview otherwise. Now the middle manager is stuck with dead weight on their team, which is worse than the vacant position because you end up having to pay this clown without gaining any substantial contribution to the workload.

8TB of data is an insane amount of documents/pictures.

How is this even possible in 2021?
More easy and simple than you think. Local / City Police departments are not these structures of efficiency and coordination like they're portrayed on TV. Most throughout the country are still on paper files, and those computer files that do exist are in legacy non-portable languages!!!

I wonder how much of an " investigation" they did into this. It would be real easy to tell if they had backups and whether or not they were working.

Then you know people who for example think RAID is a backup. Or never tested their backup, or intentionally disable cloud backup "because they don't trust the cloud", or let the person responsible for backups go and no one did them since. There probably isn't no conspiracy, just normal incompetence or a manager's cost saving move finally coming home to roost.
