Took the fam today. My baby girl loved it after finally getting her to watch the OG we grew up on.
Movie looked great and I understood the subtle changes to keep the African tone/world intact. Seeing Mufasa die pissed me off all over again. But I can say my only gripe was the missing of some classic lines, just nostalgia I guess, and them turning the Timon into homo sounding with his tone/lines. Wasnt over the top but I noticed it.
Other than small stuff like that it was great. Did fell like a movie for "Us"

That wasn't lupita as Queen of the hyenas. It was t'challa's guard from civil war, the tall dark skin chick "Move or be moved" from Civil War, Florence Kasumba. I agree with the rest of your comments
I didn't like the way Donald Glover read for Simba. His delivery just didn't sit well and I feel like I could have done better. Damn, I've got to get my ass into voice acting. I need to get some connections

Not sure what people expected, but possibly this generation is just a different audience as opposed to when the original was released?
Was good to us, crowd cheered and clapped at many points. Seth Rogen was funny as usual. Beyonce was good. But when it comes to Donald Glover, not sure just seems like maybe they should of picked a more distinguishable voice? Or just didn't have to be anyone famous. But I guess they put major names behind roles to garner fans. Making him Simba was just sort of bleh to me.

One generation will be attracted to the original animated version, and younger one will go for the live version

She is gorgeous and so was the previous one. But I've stated before; what Disney is doing right now is unfair and they are not about to slow down!! Disney is going to on the market for years to come.....i think Lion King might b at 900 mill by sunday ...

now i`m not sure how Mulan is going to do ...thtas a tuff one....
Mulan is going to do well because it was only 20 years ago, which is more recent than something like Dumbo. Which nobody really grew up on. So it's going to attract all age groups. It did great back then despite being an asian movie.
It's not going to do better than Lion King though.
