She was and still is your friend Andrew's home attendant, and because you spend a lot of time at work you asked her would she be wiling to do some work "off the books?"

You just needed some cleaning up around the house and some laundry done, maybe once a week and was willing to double what the agency was paying her, plus she wouldn't be taxed on the money since it was "off the books."

One afternoon you came home early and got a chance to see her in her housekeeping outfit and you told her that she looked good in it almost like a wife from the 1960s.

She told you:
"I could be your wife"

You're not really sure if she was being sincere or maybe it's a money thing? Nevertheless, you've been playing house for the last few weeks with her.

About a month ago you started a job with a company that cleaned office buildings. You needed the extra cash because your roommate found a new job and would be relocating to Atlanta, and that would leave you in a financial lurch until you could find another person to help out with the rent.

You didn't discuss this situation with too many people, but you did tell Sahara and she ended up telling you about a friend of her father who owned a cleaning company and that she worked with them part time. Sahara told you that she was almost sure that she could get you a job there and she did.

The hours varied, but you were assigned the 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM shift during the week and also Saturday nights and Sunday nights.

Sahara would work with you on the weekend along with others and that was cool, except for one problem... Aparna Metha.

Aparna noticed that you would spend a lot of time with Sahara when she did work and assumed that there was something going on between you two. You weren't exactly sure what her motives were and why she would give you the "evil eye?"

Was it something to do with race or age? or was it that she just had an unfounded dislike for you?

One Sunday night Sahara didn't come to work and you were assigned to clean an office with Aparna and for the first hour or so you and her didn't really have too much to say to each other.

In the 2nd hour you discovered that you needed more garbage bags and weren't sure where to obtain them so you had to ask Aparna for help. She said to give her a minute because she would have to take you to a supply closet that you didn't have access to and she had the keys. You followed her and once inside the room Aparna started to question you.

She told you that Sahara is cute, but she is just a child and probably knows nothing about how to satisfy a man.

You weren't sure where she was going with this conversation because you and Sahara were just friends?

You had to ask her what did she mean by those comments and Aparna felt the need to show you...

After being out of work for awhile you began to feel less than and began to question your self worth in your relationship with Sheila. Meanwhile, she was climbing the ladder of success and was currently working at a prestigious law firm.

Although, Sheila never tried to belittle you and was always encouraging you felt that her girlfriends would probably tell her that she could do better and that she needed someone more "on her level."

You basically needed someone to talk to that had no connection to Sheila or yourself and a female friend suggested that you seek professional help. You weren't really in a position to pay a psychologist, but she had connections at her old job at "Graham-Windham," and set up a session for you to see Nicole "Nikki" Chabra.

You didn't want to admit it, but you felt an instant physical attraction to Mr. Chabra, who told you after awhile to call her "Nikki." For whatever reason you felt free with her and you were able to express yourself without being judged.

That's not to say that you couldn't talk to Sheila, but you felt a shift in Sheila behavior when the "intimacy" began to decrease and maybe it was your own insecurities, but certain negative comments seemed to be directed at you.

One evening you went to meet with "Nikki," and the session was going so well that you didn't want it to end for that matter nor did she. So you continued to talk over dinner at a restaurant that was not to far from her office.

You let the white wine get the best of you and because her name was "Nikki" you started singing "Darling Nikki" by Prince and to you bewilderment she began to sing along. At this point "Nikki" let her guard down and told you that to some degree that song was somewhat Autobiographical of her past life.

You became curious and asked:
"Past life?"

Nikki explained that she keeps that side of her hidden away, but "special" people may get to meet her, but it's been a long time since she's made an appearance.

Her words left you speechless and you found yourself just staring at her contemplating your next move when she said:
"I think it's time you meet the other Nikki"
