After being out of work for awhile you began to feel less than and began to question your self worth in your relationship with Sheila. Meanwhile, she was climbing the ladder of success and was currently working at a prestigious law firm.
Although, Sheila never tried to belittle you and was always encouraging you felt that her girlfriends would probably tell her that she could do better and that she needed someone more "on her level."
You basically needed someone to talk to that had no connection to Sheila or yourself and a female friend suggested that you seek professional help. You weren't really in a position to pay a psychologist, but she had connections at her old job at "Graham-Windham," and set up a session for you to see Nicole "Nikki" Chabra.
You didn't want to admit it, but you felt an instant physical attraction to Mr. Chabra, who told you after awhile to call her "Nikki." For whatever reason you felt free with her and you were able to express yourself without being judged.
That's not to say that you couldn't talk to Sheila, but you felt a shift in Sheila behavior when the "intimacy" began to decrease and maybe it was your own insecurities, but certain negative comments seemed to be directed at you.
One evening you went to meet with "Nikki," and the session was going so well that you didn't want it to end for that matter nor did she. So you continued to talk over dinner at a restaurant that was not to far from her office.
You let the white wine get the best of you and because her name was "Nikki" you started singing "Darling Nikki" by Prince and to you bewilderment she began to sing along. At this point "Nikki" let her guard down and told you that to some degree that song was somewhat Autobiographical of her past life.
You became curious and asked:
"Past life?"
Nikki explained that she keeps that side of her hidden away, but "special" people may get to meet her, but it's been a long time since she's made an appearance.
Her words left you speechless and you found yourself just staring at her contemplating your next move when she said:
"I think it's time you meet the other Nikki"
