Cross country moving....is PODS worth it?

Hey family... My wife, kids and I are planning on moving back to my hometown of Buffalo. We've been in Central Florida for the last twelve years, but family and the quality of life we could have up north is bringing us back.

Anyone have experience with PODS moving and storage?

I'm not trying to do the move/drive myself and will probably need to store our things while we get our home ready to sell.

Was looking at PODS or U Pack.... wondering if cats have had any experience with either, and if so, pros and cons.....

Bump! Been painting and packing all week. Trying to get this house listed by end of September.

Go with ABF U-PACK much cheaper

I used ABF U PACK to move to California about 10 years ago. Im a Tetris master so got all of our stuff into 2 pods. My company paid for it but i think it was like $2k

1. Rented a van from Home Depot to move my stuff to the pods at the ABF facility.
2. Packed stuff into pods and locked it with my own locks.
3. Took a flight and rented a van a few weeks later at Home Depot in California to pick up my stuff from the pods. (I believe they give you a month of free storage to collect your stuff from the pods).

It was very easy. Nothing was broken. Drove my stuff back across country years later... Nothing fun about driving a moving truck through 110+ heat in Death Valley and up hill though the Rockies. Id pay the ABF fee if I had to move that far again just so i can have an enjoyable drive/flight and not worry about whether a hunk of shit, underpowered, moving truck is gonna make it up the mountains..and that was with perfect weather for the entire drive.
