credit card scammer segment

There is so much that is wrong with this sequence.
Law enforcement may want to talk to the man who

servers at restaurants could be doing this. makes you paranoid if people never get caught like this guy.

Honestly that's why you use credit cards to begin with.. It's the banks money so if someone steals your cc info and make a purchase it's the bank losing the loot no you.. And depending on the amount you would only be responsible for $50 tops of the total amount stolen..

However whatever you do don't use your debit card anywhere because that's your money.. That shit gone it's a wrap..

Shit aint like it is in the movies and on TV. Unless shit is obvious cops dont have an infinite number of leads. Cops are usually 2-3 steps behind, unless you leave a trail and get sloppy. If youre clean youre not even on their radar.

Yup... Discover comes out whenever I make purchases. My bank is only used to pay people and even then shits drafted out of my account.

I been trying to tell the board this for years..

even when you swipe NEVER press debit

just press credit or enter

Once you have to enter your PIN

it IS a debit transaction.

and if the associate asks TELL them its credit.

They will be slick and say well if its CREDIT there is a minimum etc.

BGOL Finance: When you swipe your DEBIT card do you press 'CREDIT'?

In theory but if your debit card has a VISA logo on it it is protected the same way
any bank account is so after investigation you will get you card restored as long as you had NOTHING to do with the theft in the first place.

The amount of protection offered by debit cards versus the level of protection offered by credit cards is identical, as mandated by the law and in common practice. But this is not to say that the level of protection matches the level of convenience. Both debit and credit cards offer zero percent liability, meaning that all consumers who find themselves victims of card fraud will end up in the same place–their money will be refunded. However, because of the way debit cards are structured relative to credit cards, unauthorized debit card use can have a huge impact on a consumer’s wallet and on his or her psyche.

Man using your debit card nowadays you are taking a huge gamble.. I'd rather use credit to make purchases from gas to a big ass tv to eating out.. Otherwise debit should only be used for withdrawing money from your bank...

Id rather let the credit issuer take the hit

The article posted was back on August 18th, 2009. Obama has since changed a lot of the credit/debit card laws.

Got anything more recent Fam breaking this down?

BGOL doesn't like facts fam. You file a police report and bank gives you your money back in less than 2 weeks. The onus is on the store to verify ID with credit card purchases so they end up being stuck in the end, because the charges get reversed on their ass.

The difference is your personal money is still tied up while the issue is resolved. A credit card isnt your money so the issue is moot... I think thats the point he was making.

Correct! Somebody charged $2200 to Korean Airlines in my debit card and bank of America refunded it immediately.

I use debit and credit card for everything I do.

Yea the credit card scam about to be over. They putting chips in the cards now. Niggas that I know that was doin this was buyin gifts cards and reselling them

They need to hurry up and usher in the future then. Out of all the places I shopped for gifts only 2 places took the chip, all others I still had to swipe.

 Walmart is the only place I know that uses the chipped cards, I've been shopping all over and no one else is doing it. I kept hearing there was some deadline in November that all places except gas stations had to implement it but it sounds like that was bullahit.

The chipped thing seems flawed anyways, I can bet a lot of people are going to be accidentally leaving their cards in the machine.

Then theyll get got another way. Like those people who stay dropping their phone in the sink/toilet/pool. Sometimes people just dont have the "aware" gene. They might get their card, but theyll forget their whole wallet instead.

Mid 90s was IMO the best time to cake off of it.. Not gonna lie I was into that shit too

12th grade in high school summer of 95.. Caught like 50 cards with 500-1500 credit limits on them.. Go the PIN numbers and just got a bucket hat and went to different ATMs withdrawing the cash, didn't even attempt to go in the store and swipe.. Withdrew the cash on each card over 8 weeks.. Had about 30k total.. Spent that shit on hoes, kicks, clothes and bought a 91 Acura Legend

Aye fag you wasn't even born yet but it was way easy to do and back then you can take the full cash advance on the 500 limit cards and $1000 off the $1500 limit cards..

I withdrew over the course of 8 weeks in small increments usually $100 to $300 a swing..

Don't get mad you wasn't on the the hustle.. You was in preschool eating turkey diners from Gerber..

Boosters were readily available with them goods from Macy's.. Get that Polo sweater with the Bear in front for $50.. That sweater was an easy $300 retail

Foh

And u really want me to tell you how I got them 50 cards? Let's just say it was people's info from transactions they made with their credit cards and how retailers use to keep that info on receipts from the register.

Where you plugged at?
