Could a 53 year-old Mike Tyson make a comeback?

Mike Tyson lost 3 of his last 4 fights. Holyfield beat him twice.
Mike can beat me or the average guy off the street, but a real boxer will knock his ass out.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not much has changed except his age!!! Given the status of the Heavy Weight Division (the fighters in it) he's a serious problem for all of them. Fundamentally, I think most would agree he gets "a Belt", pick whichever one you think first. The real question and the only real thing that would truly be awe-inspiring to witness would be is, can he unify the crown once again???!!! Tyson being an avid Muhammed Ali fan, I would bet doing this for himself, like Ali did it, has to rank pretty high on the motivational list. I do not think his age will be a factor against him, in as much as to his "physical condition". I'm more interested in his muscle memory and his ability to alter his game plan during the said match(s). Let me explain, "Boxing" as an art / technique has long since departed the sport, especially in the Heavy Weight division, not so much in the lower weight classes. Simply, attempting or thinking that you can be successful by standing and trading punches with Tyson, even at 53 years old, is a painfully losing strategy. All evidence / indications suggest Tyson is better dealt with in the later rounds, the question for Mike is, does he now understand this and does he have the discipline to fight like he did pre Cus d'amato's death? As a rookie turning Pro, Mike had good "Boxing" skills, which he seemed to abandon later in his career. Fortunately for his come-back, it seems that the entire division is tailored made to get knocked out all over again, it doesn't seem to be a boxer in the bunch, everyone is a slugger and just a heavy puncher. Boxing has always been a thinking Man's sport, contrary to the obvious, but like Mike once said himself, "everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth", this is very true. I'll say this for myself though if Mike can convince me he's serious about this, my ass will get the pay-per-view, and I hope he wins!!!

Mmmmmmmmm, I don't know about that!!! Which 1 of these "current" belt holders or contenders is a "Boxer" and not just a heavy puncher???

bring back the heavyweight division we need you mike

if mike dont knock them out in the 1st 30 seconds, its another L for Mike.
the overhyped ex heavyweight champion was winded in his first 3 rounds and look like he was gonna die in the ring.. He blamed it on his outfit.. If that guy can be celebrated.. Than Mike shall be worshipped.. Bring back Mike the boxing game needs this.. Beat wilder than destroy the cac that has your name.. Let's go mike

Man, if I were one of those rich oil sand cacs or had Bezos money, I'd pay money for an old Mike to fight one of the prime guys in the lower weight classes. Put up or shut up. Who is the top pound-for-pound little dude these days anyway?

Old ass Mike vs Prime little guy. Let's see why they make weight classes.

them 20 year olds no nothing of mike Tyson

Mike bites ears off when he is loosing. Not a smart idea to get into a ring with him if U want to leave with your ears intact.

The guy in this fight was going through serious mental issues and was not at all prepared.

If Mike was to fight again it would be just like Cinderella Man. Meaning he would have purpose. You can see in the video he was out of shape and unmotivated. I would pay to see. It would be the greatest comeback in history.........or on par with Tiger.

The most sensible post in this entire thread. Tyson getting fucked up if he comes back to anything short of an exhibition :itsawrap:

One Year Later against Kevin McBride 6-11-2005
Round 5 :)

I remember watching this fight with my dad. At the end of the fight when Tyson said "I just do not have it in his heart anymore," you could see it in his eyes and during the entire fight. His last few fights were fought with little to no motivation.

I get that he is 53. However, Forman did it at 45, Hopkins did it at 48. It is not totally impossible. It only seems impossible because no one else has done it. People never thought Tiger would ever win again. He did. So, call me a foolish believer or an optimist, but I am cheering for this brother to do it. He deserves an opportunity to redeem his name.

Plus this would be the best end to a blockbuster movie!!! lol!
