SO CAN DYSON

I DONT THINK SO EITHER
BUT I ALSO DONT HAVE A CLUE WHY HE IS SPEAKING OUT NOW,
WHEN HE HAD PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO BE PRO ACTIVE YEARS AGO RATHER THAN REACTIVE NOW.
UNLESS HE HAD TO PROTECT HIS CAREER AND HIS MONEY
THAT HE IS NOW USING TO BUY PEOPLES BRAINLESS FOLLOWING TO PROMOTE HIS CAMPAIGN OF DIVIDE AND CONQUER BETWEEN THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS TO MAKE ALL PEOPLE THAT ARE LESS FORTUNATE APPEAR AS THOUGH THEY ARE ALL THUGS AND POOR PARENTS

COSBY IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE THE SOLE SUPPORTER OF THESE INSTITUTIONS. THE DOORS AT THESE SCHOOLS WILL CONTINUE TO BE OPEN WITH OR WITHOUT HIM.
I AM IN NO WAY TRYING TO DETRACT FROM HIS GENEROUS AND MUCH APPRECIATED CONTRIBUTIONS.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE
PLEASE TELL ME HOW HE QUALIFIES AS A
PERSON WITH THE ANSWERS........OH THATS RIGHT
HE NEVER DID GIVE ANY ANSWERS
ONLY CRITICISMS.
BY NO STRETCH AM I SAYING DYSON IS THAT MUCH BETTER
BUT RIGHT OR WRONG COSBY DESERVES TO BE CALLED OUT FOR SOME OF THE THINGS HE HAS SAID AND DONE.

YET WHEN CRITICIZED PEOPLE GET MAD AS THOUGH HE IS PERFECT
WHY ?
BECAUSE HE IS WEALTHY ..........AND THATS ENOUGH FOR SOME
NOT ME !
HE DOES NOT HAVE LISCENSE TO SPEAK FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY
WHEN IS THE LAST TIME HE SPENT ANY TIME THERE ?

BLACK PEOPLE ARE GETTING PLAYED AND CANT EVEN SEE IT.
HE BOUGHT AND PAYED FOR SOME BLACK PEOPLES SUPPORT
AND THEY SOLD OUT LIKE TYPICAL NON THINKERS.
TELEVISION TRULY IS A BRAINWASHER.

SO YOURE SAYING HE IS WRONG BECAUSE HE MADE A CRITICISM OF ANOTHER BLACK MAN ?
YOU ARE SAYING HE IS WRONG BECAUSE OF THE VENUE IN WHICH HE CRITICIZED THE FACT THAT BLACK ATHLETES GET USED BY THESE UNIVERSITIES ?

WOW. .....SOUNDS TO ME LIKE DYSON IS RIGHT.

OH BUT HES NOT RICH ENOUGH SO CANT SAY SHIT.:hmm:

Whoa Tru!

It's a free country, both men can say whatever they please. Actually it is good that both men can present both sides of an issue in a public forum.
I personally just happen to "agree" with Cosby. Especially, since his message from a black person is seldomly heard on a large scale, but is exactly the same thing my grandparents been preaching for years.

Plus it is hard for me to REALLY respect a self-proclaimed black intellecutual who backs up a lot of his points with Tupac references :hmm: and RHYMES and Freestyles his responses to reporter's questions like he in the BASEMENT ON RAP CITY.

Cosby speaking to an audience who paid over $600 or so to come to an event to hear him speak isn't speaking TO the people who need to hear it. He's speaking ABOUT the people that need to hear it. His audience knows fully well those things he spoke on and just had a chance to say "um hmm" and that's it.

ITS FUNNY YOU SHOULD SAY THAT
I AGREE WITH YOU.
EXCEPT WHY SHOULD WE DISQUALIFY DYSON BECAUSE HE
USES LYRICS AND EXAMPLES THAT THE YOUNGER PEOPLE CAN RELATE TOO
TO TRY AND BRIDGE THE GENERATION GAP SO MANY COMPLAIN ABOUT
I THINK ITS VERY INNOVATIVE.

WHY ARE WE ALL SO QUICK TO CONDEM ONE ANOTHER
AND USE NAMES LIKE POVERTY PIMP
AS THOUGH WE ALL HAVE MORE MONEY THAN WE NEED AND WE
GOT OURS WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF OUR ANCESTORS.

IM SICK TO MY STOMACH
OF ALL THE SELF HATING THAT GOES ON UNWARRENTED
AND WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEGE OF WHATS
REALLY GOING ON IN THE WORLD.

WE PRETEND THAT THESE PEOPLE DO NOTHING FOR US
WE DONT LIKE ONE OR THE OTHER FOR ONE REASON OR THE OTHER
YET THEY ALL DO BASICALLY THE SAME SHIT.
THE MESSAGE NEVER CHANGED AND NEVER WILL

JUST CAUSE COSBY SAID IT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING.
IF THERE IS ANY PIMPING GOING ON
HES PIMPIN JUST AS HARD AS ANY OF THE OTHER SO CALL BLACK ACTIVIST THAT GET BASHED.
TELL ME IN WRONG..........:hmm:

WE BETTER START EMBRACING ALL THIS SHIT AND PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE AND IN ITS PROPER SOCIAL ORDER
ITS ALREADY VERY LATE IN THE GAME.
TOO MANY PEOPLE TAKE WAY TOO MUCH FOR GRANTED.

IMO
THAT MAKES HIM ANOTHER ONE OF THE POVERTY PIMPS.

HES SPEAKING TO "WELL TO DO" BLACKS,
ABOUT POOR BLACKS
TO THE TUNE OF $600.00 PER PLATE.

NOW THATS PIMPIN.

Hey hey hey it's fat Albert
and I'm gonna sing a song for you
and Bill's gonna tell Ya thing or two.

This brother such a hypocrite. It's like Bill Bojangles Robinson saying we should stop dancing.

Back in the 60s when people like Sidney Portier and Harry Belafonte were putting their careers on the line to support the civil rights movement Cosby was nowhere to be found. Now that he's retired from show business and has his money safely in the bank he wants to be a spokesman and activist. I grew up watching I Spy, the Bill Cosby show, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, and I dug them all, but it's sad to watch this brother slide into self-hatred.

http://www.blacktown.net/bill_cosby__hypocrite.htm

he was doing this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnZrqZbs-HI

plus he gave Mario Van Peebles the money to support his movie back in the 70's, Sweetback, Different World got a lot of black kids back in the day to think about, and even go to black colleges

Maybe he could speak more on our issues at the "Autism Speaks" event he's hosting in a couple of weeks.

It's only $5000 per head to enter.

Muthafukkas in here wanna pat a niqqa on the back for talking to well to do folks about poor people and the shyt "they" do.

Man please.

Kinda late to this thread but so be it. yeah, I'm a Cosby supporter. I've stated before that it don't need to sound sweet it just needs to be heard. Cosby aint no perfect human being. He's got faults that many people love to pick at cause Cos has made mistakes, ethically and morally. His faults are magnified directly proportional to his fame. I read a few of the posts and what one brother (who typed in all caps) said something to the effect that Bill place all the weight on us:

BENBRIZZLE said:
THIS IS A GOOD POINT BUT THE THINGS YOU ARE SPEAKING OF APPLY TO ALL OF AMERICA BLACK AND WHITE. BUT IF YOU LISTEN TO BILL COSBY IT LIK IT ALL FALLS ON BLACK SHOULDERS.
Truth to tell the weight DOES fall on us. We've been waiting (that's the probelem...we've been waiting) on White America to cure our ills. To White America, we're becoming like the monkey on a junkie's back. They're trying to shake the weight. To them WE'RE the problem! Here's a little story about comapring yesterday to today:

The year is 1970. The place is Bed Stuy Brooklyn. A boy about 12 years old decides to hop the back of a bus instead of walkin the 10 blocks he needs to go. When I say "back of the bus" I mean riding the bumper. Boy does what he had to do and heads back home. His Moms is waiting at the door when he walks in...doesn't say a word, just commences to wail on his ass from the front of the house to the back. Boy in his room with welts all over, wondering what he did. Seems that one of Mom's friends caught him taking that free ride and word got back to Moms. Back then The Community raised our kids.

Time: 2007. Same nabe. 15 year old boy robs the corner grocery. Head off to "The Corner" and cops a coupla tins and heads home. Moms waiting at the door...with her hand out. "I KNOW you got sumthin for me too!

You don't DARE say shit about what our young people are doing in nabes these days for fear of getting your damn head blown off. Mom can't handle her 15 year old boy, can barely talk to her 12 year old daughter. The community is broken cause we can't communicate with our youth cause their parents probably out there trying to get there's be it working or slinging. Kids are raising themselves, learning as they go. We still have many, many strong, smart young people out there with a purpose in life and goals to achieve.

The problem is we're losing more and more of them to the disillusioned life of the streets. It's not our problem alone but we have to bear the weight. The morals of our country are deteriorating with each presidential election. We're losing the battle for the hearts, minds and souls of our youth. Both Bill and Dr. Dyson are right. We need them BOTH and 10 thousand more like them
