Well, okay, PBS has always been here to help, but they’d like to remind you that you have all sorts of performing arts shows at your fingertips, despite Broadway and virtually all venues closing over COVID-19.

So feel free to check out the free PBS Video App to watch Great Performances episodes like Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration at Tanglewood, Now Here This “Vivaldi: Something Completely Different,” and Now Here This “The Riddle of Bach.”

If you’re looking to get your Broadway on PBS fix, including shows like The Sound of Music, Kinky Boots, Much Ado About Nothing, and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I, you will have to sign up for a PBS Passport, which is a $5 per month donation or a $60 donation, but hey, it does go to PBS. And if you just want to watch hours of Antiques Roadshow, no one is going to judge you. Plus, self-quarantine seems like the perfect time to discover your great-grandma’s quilt is actually worth $750,000 and change

Newborn tests positive for COVID-19 in London

Doctors don't know if the virus passed to the baby in the womb, or some time during or after delivery.

A newborn in London has tested positive for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, just minutes after being born to a mother who was also infected with the virus, according to news reports.
Days prior to giving birth, the woman was admitted to a hospital for symptoms of pneumonia, finding out she had tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 only after her baby was born at North Middlesex hospital in Enfield, in north London, The Guardian reported.
According to The Sun, the baby was being treated at the hospital, while the mother had been transferred to an infectious-diseases hospital.
It is not known when the child contracted the disease. "We can't say it happened while the baby was still in the womb," Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of Preventive Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, told Live Science. The baby could have also contracted the virus during, or immediately after, birth, Schaffner said.

Some infections pass from a mother to her baby through the mother's placenta, while the fetus is still developing in the womb, or from bodily fluids during delivery. For instance, the Zika virus — which is in another family of viruses from this coronavirus — can pass to newborns both in the womb and during delivery, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When passed to a baby in the womb, the Zika virus can cause microcephaly and other severe brain defects, the CDC said.
"That was a terrible phenomenon that happened with Zika," Schaffner said.
The first known newborn who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 did so within 36 hours of birth. In that case, it also wasn't clear whether transmission happened in the womb.
Following that news, researchers analyzed samples from nine women who came down with COVID-19 when they were 36 to 39 weeks pregnant, and were admitted to a hospital in Wuhan, China, where the outbreak began. All of the women delivered via C-section. To find out if and perhaps when the virus could be transmitted, the team looked at samples of amniotic fluid, umbilical cord blood, breast milk and samples from the newborn's throat.
None of those samples tested positive for the coronavirus, and both the mothers and babies survived, according to that study, published Feb. 12 in the journal The Lancet. In those cases, at least, the virus didn't appear to pass between a mother and her developing fetus.

Right now, the bigger question is how the baby will fare.
"Does the baby become sick?" Schaffner asked. "Does the baby also develop pneumonia?"
Children infected with this coronavirus are mostly showing mild symptoms. But there isn't enough data yet to say whether babies would fall into this category.
"Newborns are particularly vulnerable, and they may be exceptions to that general rule since they are so vulnerable," Schaffner said.
As the coronavirus spreads across the globe, everyday life is being transformed with social-distancing measures, school closures, event cancellations, and in some cases, entire city lockdowns.
Though pregnant women tend to be at a higher risk of catching some respiratory infections and developing more severe symptoms from those infections, that doesn't seem to be the case for the coronavirus, according to a report published at the end of February by the World Health Organization-China Joint Mission on Coronavirus Disease 2019. Of 147 pregnant women with either confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19, only 8% had a severe form of the disease and just 1% were in critical condition, according to that report.
Hmmm This is extremely interesting

(Natural News) In recent months, the coronavirus pandemic — originating from Wuhan, China — has been taking the world by storm with more cases being reported daily. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recently announced that there are more than 118,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide and that 4,291 have lost their lives to the infectious disease. According to Tedros, the WHO expects to see the number of cases and deaths climb even higher in the weeks ahead. Because of this, healthy-minded people are looking into ways to strengthen their body’s immune system in an attempt to find some sort of protection against the novel coronavirus.

How do you protect yourself against coronavirus?
COVID-19 is a flu-like disease caused by a member of the coronavirus family that is closely related to the SARS and MERS viruses that have caused outbreaks in the past. The disease is caused by a virus designated as SARS-CoV-2 by the Coronavirus Study Group (CSG) of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses. COVID, on the other hand, is short for “coronavirus disease.” Those with confirmed cases reported symptoms such as coughing, fever and shortness of breath. However, severe cases of COVID-19 can lead to pneumonia and death.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released guidelines on simple ways to prevent illness by limiting exposure to the virus. However, boosting the immune system can also help the body fight off infections like the coronavirus. Below you can find a few science-backed, natural ways that can provide adequate protection against the novel coronavirus pandemic. (Related: Natural ways to boost your immunity as coronavirus spreads.)

Elderberry
Elderberry is considered one of the most used medicinal plants in the world and has become a popular supplementary food against symptoms of the flu and common cold. While there are many species of elderberry, Sambucus nigra is often used for medicinal purposes due to the many health benefits it provides. However, Health Impact News reported that buying a prepared formula made with S. nigra is better than making your own from fresh berries. This is because elderberry contains natural toxins called cyanogenic glycosides which can cause vomiting, nausea, cramps and diarrhea.

Recent research has established that elderberry could reduce the effects of the common cold and influenza. A study done by researchers from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem enrolled patients who exhibited flu-like symptoms and asked them to take 15 milliliters (mL) of elderberry syrup four times a day for a testing period of five days. Their findings revealed that those who took the elderberry syrup recovered four days earlier than participants who took regular flu medications or a placebo.

Furthermore, another study, published in the journal Nutrients, gave 312 economy class passengers a 300 milligram (mg) dose of elderberry extract three times per day. The researchers found that passengers who got sick during the flight experienced much tamer symptoms and had shorter periods of illness, suggesting a significant reduction in cold duration and severity.

Colloidal Silver
Colloidal silver products are popular among holistic health circles and are touted as an effective antibacterial agent. However, recent studies have shown that colloidal silver can handle infectious viruses as well. In a study published in the Journal of Nanotechnology, a research team comprising of members from the University of Texas and Mexico University in Nuevo Leon found that silver nanoparticles could kill HIV-1 and other types of viruses in only three hours. The team incubated HIV-1 virus samples at 37 C and observed that the silver nanoparticle-preparations they tested eliminated 100 percent of the virus.

There are also studies that focused on the efficacy of colloidal silver against respiratory viruses similar to the novel coronavirus. A study published in the International Journal of Nanomedicine found that silver nanoparticles reduced the viral infectivity of human parainfluenza virus type 3. Researchers from the University of Naples theorized that silver is capable of doing so by blocking the interaction of the virus with the cell.

Vitamin C Supplements
Vitamin C is an essential vitamin, meaning that the body cannot produce it on its own and it must be gained from external sources. However, the vitamin plays many roles that promote overall health. A large portion of the world, especially in Asia and continental Europe, consider Vitamin C as a potent antiviral agent. Health Impact News reported that China has conducted several clinical trials that involved the intravenous application of vitamin C to treat patients with coronavirus.

While vitamin C has not been tested against coronavirus until recently, previous research has already established its effectiveness against other types of viral infections, such as influenza. A study conducted by researchers from the Seoul National University College of Medicine looked into the anti-viral immune response of vitamin C and found that it exhibits responses even at early times of influenza virus infections through the increased production of the antiviral cytokine interferon (IFN)-a/B.

Following safety precaution guidelines and even quarantining people can be effective ways to reduce the spread of coronavirus. However, these methods do not help in the event of coming into contact with the virus itself. Because of this, strengthening your immune system using natural ways should be considered as a viable and effective prevention protocol to keep yourself safe from the pandemic.

Fox Business says host Trish Regan on 'hiatus' amid controversial coronavirus remarks

Fox Business announced this week that the show hosted by Trish Regan will be on “hiatus” following controversial remarks she made about the coronavirus.
“Fox Business’s prime-time programs Trish Regan Primetime and Kennedy will both be on hiatus until further notice,” the network said in a statement, referring to Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery, who hosts her own show on the network. “Due to the demands of the evolving pandemic crisis coverage, we are deploying all resources from both shows for staffing needs during critical market hours. Fox Business will run long form programming in prime time for the foreseeable future.”
Fox Business added the hiatus for Kennedy was related to staffing.

The announcement from Fox Business came amid fallout from Regan’s claims that the coronavirus is “another attempt to impeach” President Trump.
“We’ve reached a tipping point. The chorus of hate being leveled at the president is nearing a crescendo as Democrats blame him, and only him, for a virus that originated halfway around the world. This is yet another attempt to impeach the president,” she said Monday, adding that Democrats and the “liberal media” were using the coronavirus to “destroy the president.”
Regan’s comments led to an avalanche of criticism, with some saying the host should be permanently fired.
Regan, a reliable supporter of Trump on her show, took a milder tone when discussing the coronavirus Friday night shortly before her hiatus was announced.
“Our path forward right now is together, the left and the right united to fight this crisis,” Regan said on her program. “We’re all in this together, and we need to stay safe.”
She later tweeted Friday night that she “fully” supports Fox Business’s decision and that “we all must to do our part to keep our colleagues safe.”

Oh, your one of those that defend your enslavement?? People still haven't figured out, the television is one of those gifts the Nazi's gave this colony when this country brought over 1000's of Nazi's to continue those fucked up experiments!!

After initially defying a request from Nashville Mayor John Cooper to close bars and limit the number of people dining at restaurants to slow the spread of coronavirus, the owner of Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk & Rock 'n' Roll Steakhouse has voluntarily shut its doors for the time being.
Steve Meisner, attorney for Steve Smith, said in a statement to EW on Monday, "Mr. Smith and his establishments are voluntarily complying with the directives of the CDC and local government." He added, "We are all very concerned for the heath and welfare of the Nashville community. We are equally concerned with the ability of our 800+ employees to weather this event with no pay. The hospitability industry is taking a huge hit."
Meisner said they hope to reopen Kid Rock's soon with recommended restrictions such as 50% capacity and deep cleaning.
A day earlier, Smith had released a statement calling Mayor Cooper's request "unconstitutional" and saying he would not close his establishments unless there was a statewide mandate.
Kid Rock, real name Robert James Richie, did not respond to request for comment on the situation.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 52 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state as of Monday. Nashville is still recovering from a tornado that ravaged the area March 3, with speeds clocking in as high as 165 mph. Dozens were killed, including five children under the age of 13. Smith presented Cooper with a $100,000 check to help the community in recovery.

The four-story Kid Rock's venue opened in October 2018 and cost an estimated $20 million. Multiple outlets have billed country/rock singer Kid Rock as either a partner or collaborator of co-owners Smith and Al Ross, the latter of whom died in 2019. It is not uncommon for celebrities to license out their names, though Kid Rock's affiliation with the restaurant is not quite clear.

Kid Rock told The Tennessean of his partnership with his longtime friend Smith and Ross on the Nashville hot spot in June 2018, “I’m scared to put my name on anything because my name is on it. If I put my stamp on it and have a vision for it and it’s something that’s detrimental, it’s not worth the money or risk. At this point, I don’t need to take risks. I want to do things that are fun and with good people."
This story has been updated with information about the voluntarily closure of Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk on Monday.

I drive uber in Houston part time... last trip yesterday I pull up into the medical center area to get a rider... I look and see walking to my car 3 Asian women, all wearing face masks.

My car has been THOROUGHLY cleaned and lysol'd since then...

And I would have politely rolled up my window and turned off my uber lights and pulled off.

Be safe out there.
