Cord cutters I need your opinion on the best stream players.

Oh ok, I have 6 tvs, so I am gonna play with both of them and figure out which I like better. The g box is $50 less than the shield and I have to buy 4 more boxes, that's $200 savings if the g box fits my needs.
He is saying the nvdia is more then enough to handle streaming and kodi

quick question

what about data caps.. with so much being steamed has anyone run into problems maxing out their monthly data
No data cap here with Comcast, at least not yet. They had a 250GB cap a few years ago, but got rid of it. Looking at my monthly usage, I usually average at least 300GB a month.

I have 3 fire sticks with Kodi. They are great. I wish I could find an alternative for my live local news and live local sports. If I had that, my cable would be canceled immediately.
Dude, all you need is a basic antenna for local channels.

1 Living room, 2 in basement (man cave), 3 bedrooms. I am trying to get rid of all these cable boxes the monthly rental fees are ridiculous.
Lmao damn bruh, overkill with 6 tvs, but do you!

I wish. I tried an antenna that was suppose to be good for 60-70 miles. That shit didn't work. I guess I live either too far from the towers or I live in a valley that doesn't give me a good path to the signal.

Type in your address on tvfool.com and see how far away you are from the TV towers.
If you're within 25 miles, then you're good. Try another antenna.

yo is there a way to sideload games like gta v on the nvidia shield i got a mac sooooooooo i cant stream pc games.

You can side load Android specific games. I don't think GTA V is out for Android yet though.

I added DNA Tv from Joe Nobody youtube channel every channel I open comes up with a dialog box with this message.

Server overload due to too much traffic. Please try again

Fellas check out nexus players and you can add kodi to it. You can buy them online at Best Buy.

All firesticks can't have Kodi installed on it. I bought one and the serial number on it won't allow Kodi according to the site of how to install it.

Hey there Mouse, how have you been?

And yeah I came across that info too when I was looking into modding my sister's firestick. Luckily for her, hers made the cut....only thing not working is finding a channel with live streams...none of those joints worked for me

Hmm, that's the first I've heard of firesticks that won't load kodi.
I've purchased them via Amazon as recently as last month and was able to load Kodi just fine.
Are you sure you're not confusing rooting and sideloading?

Nah go on the post that has the tutorial on xda of how to put kodi on them. It says serial numbers between whatever and whatever won't work. Different ones. It was the first thing I read when I was going to do it myself. I got mine from best buy.

DJ,

I suggest getting a cable card from your provider, HDHomeRun Prime, and installing the HD HomeRun addon on your devices. You won't need any cable boxes.

I just looked at that, I am trying to get rid of cable all together, I get my local channels on direct TV that I can't rid of because of nfl Sunday ticket. My fire bundles were on sale at Amazon for 89 with hdmi cable and HD antenna. I haven't hooked up the antennas yet but if I can get my locals I am getting g rid of direct too and just gonna buy season ticket streaming package.

You do realize you can watch those same games on Sunday Ticket on Kodi, right?

You got a link to that?

I can't take the chance of it freezing or not being able to get a decent stream. I do alot of betting on football, I don't mind paying for the ticket.

What were you using to add kodi. I buy damn near 5 to 6 a week from best buy and meijer(when they have them in stock) and have never had an issue. Is this a new problem?

Looks like that's only a problem if you're using that es files stuff. Use abdfire and you'll have no problems

I didn't get that far because once I was reading the tutorial and it said that my stick was one that they blocked from being altered I didn't even try.

Okay I Just got that X2 in the mail...

damn its small enough to fit in ya pocket and no instructions nothing...

gonna need a full day to just sit down do some research.

wish me luck

thanks to all for all the help so far!

I will DEFINITELY be back!

So I just bought a GBox Q from a colleague. Dude had it less than 6 months. Here is why he sold it to me...

He is about to retire. In his mid to late 60's. He hated having to choose for everything. Seasons, episodes, links. He got tired of it. He didn't like that the "channels" didn't continued to play.

Basically, he is a true couch potato. Someone who wants to flip on the tv, select a channel, then let it play until they fall asleep. As a result, I got a damn near brand new GBox Q for $50.

Bare with me, I have some rookie questions.
Say I buy a Firestick and want to use kodi,
Do I need to always have a computer running or is it once I install kodi on the stick I'm good?

Once it's installed on the stick in terms of streaming online content via add-ons, you're good.
Now, if you're streaming files stored on your computer, then yes, your computer needs to be running to play those files.
