I know what you are saying JD and part of me agrees with you, however the other part of me doesn't want to see the repercussions of someone trying this and not knowing what they are talking about. It seems the cameraman knew "some" of his rights and the law as it pertains to California, but I'm sure he was incorrect at least in the most miniscule fashion. If he had come across a more knowledgeable officer, things could have become a tug of war/battle of "who's right" and no civilian will win that with an officer on scene. In court is another issue, but why risk it when you aren't 100% sure of the law

Don't raise my voice, get all amped up, aggressive, etc. I've been stopped by police knowing I've done nothing wrong and came out of the stop without ticket, warning, whatever. I can belittle a person with words and not come across as an asshole IF NEEDED.

The cameraman was aggressive and actually again I think he wasn't 100% correct with this knowledge of the law, but since he seemed as if he knew what he was talking about the cop was the one trying to backpedal. If you believe that is a method that should be practiced by most then that's your call. There is no way if I had a son that I would suggest that type of behavior. Especially if he wasn't fully aware and understanding of the law. PERIOD!!

Whether or not we agree on that aspect, we do agree that knowing your rights and not being afraid to speak up in the proper situation.
