yeah I feel the same way, i've never been a Beyonce fan at all. I respected her work ethic and talent but always just viewed her as a Pop artist and a product,
but she's shown me something in the past couple of years. I dug the direction of her last project, and this current one isn't sonically on the same level but has some really good visuals and cinematography, there was an authentic portrayal of anger, sorrow, and pain in a lot of the songs. Can tell she put a lot of time, emotion, thought and resources into this project.
I'm not gonna say that she's being disingenuous with her new found consciousness, I think she's growing and feeling inspired by certain things going on. Free from the constraints that her fathers management had on her, and also self aware enough to realize she can't speak on certain things in an interview, it's not her strong suit. But she's found a truthful voice to give her the platform she's always wanted, allowing her art to speak for itself and giving the viewer the chance to interpret it as they see fit.
And Seeing Serena bouncing that ass was a nice surprise
